Black Forest Cake Recipe
65To prepare Black Forest Cake.. Here is the recipe..
Ingredients you need:
Cake
- 4 Eggs separated
- 5 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 9 tbsp castor sugar
- 1 level tsp baking powder
Syrup
- Half cup Water
- 2 tsp castor sugar
- 1 tbsp Rum
Crust
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp melted Jam
- 1 tsp castor sugar
- 6-8 marie Biscuits powdered
Filling
- 21/2-3 tsp gelatin dissolved in little warm water
- 2 Egg whites
- 5 tbsp castor sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 cups cream
- 1 small tin cherries (optional)
Garnish
- 1 1/2 cup cream
- 3/4 cup castor sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- Garted Chocolate
Grease and dust a baking dish. Sieve flour, cocoa and baking powder together. Beat Egg whites till stiff and beat in the sugar. Continue beating and mix in the yolks. Beat for a minute. Fold in flour mixture. Pour into prepared tin. Bake in a hot pre-heated oven till done. Cool. Divide into 2 parts . The lower part should be thicker than the upper one.
Mix syrup ingredients together. pour over both parts of the cake and leave to soak.
Crush biscuits, add sugar and butter. Apply jam on the back of the cake. Press the biscuit mixture over the Jam.
For filling, beat cream and sugar. add Essence mix gelatin mixture with this. beat egg whites till stiif. Mix with the cream. Line and grease the mould in which cake was baked. Pour cream into it. Leave to set in a freezer.
Unmould the set cream onto the thick part of the cake. stone the cherries and arrange a layer of the cherries on top of the cream. Cover with the other part of the cake and press well.
For garnish, beat cream with castor sugar and vanilla essence till soft peaks are formed. Cover the cake with this cream. Decorate with grated Chocolate.
