Wow, what a departure! Very nice and interesting.
I am black with a black hair but it's growing grey. do you have an idea of which product to use to retain the black colour.
Thanks for the hub, quite kinky
retaining the color in your hair that is growing out grey is a universal question, I know that henna is a natural hair coloring solution that may just get the results you want.
i love the puffy hair so cute
What is the name of the 8th hair style on this page & what does it take to get this stlye it is hot.
Hello rhonda the last three photos on this hub is of a hairstyle with cornrows bantu knots with a burgundy rinse, the second shows the hairstyle with small two strand twists and the last one is a straw set on natural hair, can be achieved easily with small rods or straws, section hair while wet and wrap around then let hair dry naturally or under a dryer.
with the straw set do you anything like a setting lotion, gel or wax to hold them in place. do you blowdry it straight or as is after washing &conditioning. my hair is thick corase& about 3" long when blowed dried straight
hi rhonda the straw set is done on wet hair, so you will want to use a leave in conditioner or styling echo gel sparingly and allow the hair to dry under a hooded dryer, the rods you use come in various sizes so since your hair is shorter you will want to use a comb and wrap your ends into a circular motion to get it to curl up, henna is another way to loosen your hair texture naturally.
My Hair is coarse, and my curl pattern is tight, and tighter even more so in some areas than others. I have a tendency to sweat in my scalp as well.
What products would i use to leave my afro as light and manageable as possible?
Kisha, you did mention a good point, we want our hair to be light and not heavy, and that is what happens when we use pomades and grease in our hair it gets weighed down, so I would recommend that you use coconut oil, and treat your hair with a aphrogee deep conditioner every month, this will keep your hair manageable and soft but most of all light.
This is a great article. You really spoke from your heart. I am going back natural again after so long. Hopefully, with all the tips I am getting on line, I can experience a healthy hair journey!
dutch84 it is worth the effort, because you learn new things about your hair everyday, like the other day I used a leave in reconstructor in my hair and I added just a pinch of evoo (extra virgin olive oil) and my hair just loved it, wow I was really amazed because I usually get a lot of shrinkage when I use any kind of conditioner or oils, but this time my curl pattern seemed stay longer, which was a plus.
Nice article, I'm a natural black women fan!!!
i am thinking of going natural means without perm would like to just press it straight with electric pressing comb is this ok any special instructions doing this. my hair has not grown back since high school.please help also any special products.
