The most advantageous spot in a battle is in a place where you can see the enemy as you will be able to know every move it makes. In contrast, not seeing your foe can lead you to losing your advantage. And that is applicable not only on true battlefield but as also in a spot where you will need the mold removal process.

With that, it can be said that molds must first be seen in order to implement an effective mold cleaning. As one of the most dangerous types of molds, it is then but a must to be always on the look for black mold. Missing them or a missing a sign of their growth in your home can put you and your family at risk.

However, black mold can sometimes grow hidden. Because of this, no matter how efficient you can implement your black mold treatment, it'll simply be worthless as there are no visible molds to treat. At this point is when mold removal becomes a challenge. Why? Simply, it is because you need to know where they could be located first and it could be a bit of a work.

Generally, finding hidden black mold is not an easy task as there are so many areas to check. And within each of those areas are more specific spots that could perfectly hide the growing molds. Nevertheless, those spots need to be checked to confirm mold infestation and to conduct a black mold treatment as early as possible. The following are home areas where thorough mold inspection is needed.

In the Kitchen

Water is the main source of black mold growth in the kitchen. So basically, where water always is, there could be an infestation. Areas where there could be even just a bit of dampness must also be thoroughly inspected. Check the spot under the sink where water pipes are as there could be leaks on them. Also, check on the surface under appliances such as refrigerators, dishwasher and stove.

In the Bathroom

Bathrooms are often wet after use. Make sure to dry it by using a fan or a dehumidifier. Opening a window will also help. Like in the kitchen, look for leaks in water pipes under the sink and in the shower. Flooring and walls, specifically on the shower, must also be thoroughly checked for black mold presence. The side of the tub is another spot that needs to be inspected. If you are using carpets in your bathroom, remove them and check the surface underneath as they can easily get wet and infested.

In the Basement

Look for black mold in piles at your basement. Make sure however to wear goggles, masks or gloves. Also, check for leaks on pipes that might be mounted in walls. Especially inspect organic stored items, for example carpets, books, cardboards and wood-made furniture. You may also use dehumidifier in your basement to decrease the level of dampness.

As black mold can also grow hidden, it is important that you know its location. You can do this by thoroughly checking the most possible areas where they can be seen. With this information, you will know where to direct your mold remediation.
