Black is beautiful

The black outfit is certainly in vogue. Nowadays, there are lots of trendy outfits that come in black colours. Fashion buffs actually prefer black outfits for evening outings and even the office attire. It is therefore trendy for all occasions, whether formal or informal. It is indeed popular to find so many of our women dressed in black Iro and Buba laces, trousers, skirt suits or even a black top.

Ironically, this type of outfit in the past symbolised mourning for a loved one and the wearer oftentimes was an object of pity. It was also an abomination or taboo in some parts of the country for women to wear all black attire when not mouring. That of course is now an old school way of thinking. Majority of today’s women crave for black outfits and must have at least two in their wardrobe, either as an office wear, casual or evening wear.

Interestingly, the colour of one’s skin does not affect or determine whether a woman wears a black outfit or not. At a certain time, mostly fair skinned women only wore it but the trend has shifted to all kind of skin types.
