Blau Colonial Cayo Coco
69Blau Colonial Cayo Coco is a beautiful resort on the north coast of Cuba. Located on a secluded island where the white sand beaches spread for miles and miles. The Blau Colonial resort is a privilege you simply cannot pass up! If you are looking for a wonderful way to spend a week away from work, and would just like to escape the stresses of life then visiting Blau Colonial Cayo Coco or one of its neighboring resorts is the place for you!!
Upon landing in Cayo Coco, Cuba at Jardines Del Rey airport, you are welcomed by a fresh warm breeze. I made my way through customs and exchanged my funds to Cuban convertable paso. Outside there were buses which promptly drove us to our hotel a short distance away. Along the drive you have the oppurtunity to view the gorgeous land scape and several resort hotels on the way. The bus brings you directly to the hotel lobby, which stood 4 stories high with an opening in the middle to bring in the sunshine.
The room was large with a stocked fridge, the balcony was also large and had a wonderful view of the light blue ocean and palm trees all around. The maid service was good, the room usually got cleaned around 2 or 3 pm and fridge re-stocked. I would suggest bringing candy, gum or even color books as tips for the maids, in cuba these items are just as good if not better then any tip.
the entertainment on sight was very good! Every night at the disco tech they had live shows varying from traditional Cuban dances to plays and more. During the day they would offer dance lessons by the pool and various activities. Along with the live entertainment and dance lessons, the resort offers several packages to purchase; such activities as para-sailing, kayaking, catamaran trip, a day trip into Cuba, visiting villages and towns and a crocodile safari!
