Blogging 101

Are you blogging yet. If not you are missing a large percentage of income that could be going in your pocket every month. Lets cover some basics of blogging and see if we can get you up and running with a few blogs.

One really great way you can get started with blogging now is Google's Blogger. After Google's purchase of Blogger they completely over hauled Blogger and made it into a much better blogging solution than it had ever been before.

First of all if you do not have one sign up for a account at Blogger by Clicking Here

Once you have your account sign into Blogger and set up a blog by clicking top right where it says Create A Blog. Once you have your Blog created simply do a test post on it to make it appear on your dash board. You can delete that test post later.

Now you want to click on layout which is there on your far right under your blogs name. Once you click layout it is going to show you one of the great new things that Google has done with Blogger and that is their new drag and drop interface that allows you to do so many things with your new Blogger Blog that you did not have the option of doing with the old blogger. You can add page elements at the right side or bottom of your blog including Adsense Capsules , HTML Capsules , Video Capsules , Link Capsules and much much more. You can see all these new capsules when you click on Add A Page Element.

Now here is one of the great new things about these page elements. You can rearrange them the way you want them by simply dragging and dropping them and clicking on the top right button that says Save This makes it so much easier than the old Blogger.

Don't Miss Making Your Blog or Blogs Sticky

Don't miss using Sticky Content. You Tube can provide you with some of the best Sticky content you will ever find anyone. You can find videos at You Tube on almost any subject. You can add the videos either with a HTML capsule or with a Video Bar capsule. You will be surprised at how many different subjects you can find videos about at You Tube.

If you make good use of Sticky Content people will bookmark your blog or blogs and they will be back. You want to do any and everything you can to build return visitors and the use of Sticky content is the easiest way to do this.

You can create a multitude of Blogs at Blogger and all the income from Adsense is yours to keep. If you are going to do a great number of blogs I would strongly suggest creating multiple ID's at Blogger to make it easier for you to keep up with what you are doing.

Don't Let Anyone Put You Into A Box

Don't let anyone put you into a box. If you create Blogs at Blogger they are your sites and you can build them anyway you choose. If you give each of your blogs its own unique identity you will find that in return you will pick up some very dedicated readers especially if you create unique or controversial content. Don't miss the fact that controversy can create income. If you have some strong political feelings about one thing or another create a blog about it and when people find it you can build quite a following.

Create A Test Blog To Play With

One thing you can do at Blogger and I strongly suggest this to everyone is that you create a test blog at Blogger that is really only for you to play with and make mistakes on so that when you build your public blogs you will have a much better ideal of what you are doing. Resist the urge to create a mass amount of cookie cutter blogs. Try to make each unique. If you take the time to give each of your blogs its own unique idenity you will find your visitors will bookmark your blog and return.

Where Is The Traffic For My Blog

You can use the below methods and more to create traffic for your blogs and if you put links in a visible place ( top right section of your blog or blogs ) you will create hits to your hubpages also. If you have a blog that is about a subject you have created Hub Pages about also be sure to link to those Hub Pages from the Blog that is on a simular subject.

Bookmarking

You want to be sure to tell your Blog Visitors exactly how to bookmark your blog. Don't assume that your surfers know anything. To bookmark any web page all the surfer has to do is push CTRL +D. Put your bookmarking instructions in a highly visible area on the top right hand side of your blog. Just below the top right adsense capsule is the perfect place. You will find that Bookmarkers are very important to you. The more bookmarkers you have the better off you will be.

Your Adsense Capsules

On each blog you should have a Adsense Capsule on the top right and another at the top bottom of your blog. You want your Adsense capsules to be very visible so your surfers will be sure to see them.

Let People Know Where Your Blog Is

Once you get 75 - 100 posts on your Blog consider sending out press releases about your Blog. Use the search feature at Google to find a lot of sites that will allow you to post or send a press release about your blog.

Submit your RSS Feed to all the Blog Directories that will accept it. You can find the top 55 sites to submit your RSS Feed to by Clicking Here However resist the temptation to submit your feed or feeds until you have at least 75 -100 posts on any blog.

If you create a lot of Hub Pages at Hubpages.com make good use of your RSS feeds by using a RSS Capsule at Blogger and adding your Hubpages RSS Feeds to the RSS Capsule. People will see the feed descriptions on your blogger blogs and click thru to your Hub Pages giving you more Hub Page views.

Hunt Down Link Trades For Your Blogs

Look for Blogs that are on a same or simular subject to your Blog and email the owners of the blog or blogs you are interested in doing link trades with and ask for a link trade. Link trades will help to build your rankings in the search engines and some link trades can bring great traffic.

The Secret Back Door Into Google And Yahoo With RSS Feeds

Don't Miss Adding Your Blog Feeds To Your My Yahoo or My Google Pages. You can do this yourself and its a great back door into both of the search engine indexes. Some people on the internet are charging $19.95 to $39.95 to tell you how to do this but there it is for you for free. Once you add your blog or blogs feed to your My Yahoo or My Google Page you will find that your blog or blogs will get indexed by both search engines quickly.

Forum Traffic For Your Blogs

No matter what subject you create a Blog about you can probally find a forum or forums around the internet on the same or a simular subject. You want to join the forums that allow you to have a signature. It is with that link or links in your signature that you can get great traffic for your Blog , Blogs , or Hub Pages. If you participate in the community every time you post on the forum there will be your signature and eventually people will click the link or links in your signature to see your Blog or Hub Page. Make it interesting and unique and you can in time build quite a huge following.
