One of the concerns that have been voiced with biofuel fireplaces like this is that the fire just "isn't hot enough".  When compared to regular natural gas or propane fires, this can be the case.  This isn't a problem with the Blomus model or any of the other brands of biofueled fireplaces, it is a nature of the fuel used.

Natural gas and propane by nature of their chemical composition will burn hotter than ethanol or denatured alcohols.  If you are more interested in having a fireplace for heating than looks, this style might not be best suited for you.
