Blonde Brownie Recipe: Adobe Blondie Brownie

A delicious blonde brownie featuring chocolate chips, marshmallows, and pecans.

1/2 cup butter, room temperature

1 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

2 eggs, separated

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup miniature marshmallows

1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter and granulated sugar until light; beat in 1 whole egg and 2 egg yolks. Into another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add to the butter and egg mixture; stir until thoroughly blended.

Spread batter into a greased and floured 9x13x2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle batter with chopped pecans, chocolate chips, and marshmallows.

Beat egg whites until stiff; gently stir in brown sugar then spread over brownies. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely; cut into bars.

Blonde Brownie Recipe: Butterscotch Blondie

Love butterscotch? This is the blonde brownie for you.

1/4 cup shortening

1 cup light brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1 cup chocolate or butterscotch chips, or 1/2 cup each flavor

Directions

Melt shortening in a saucepan over low heat; remove from heat. Mix in brown sugar, vanilla and egg; stir well. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Spread in greased and floured 8x8x2-inch pan. Bake butterscotch brownies at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cut brownies while warm.
