A contrail is the white stream of condensed vapor following an airplane, which has ejected engine heat into the cold atmospheric air, forming water vapor or ice crystals causing this visable apparition. This high stream disappears in a comparatively short distance as the airplane flys and the condensation trail remains relatively short as it reabsorbs into the atmosphere. Thus con=condensation and trail=the stream or tail.

A chemtrail is not the same as a contrail. Contrails are natural occurrences from the activity of a plane upon the atmosphere. Chemtrails are manmade. Government made, and purposely so. Expectedly, they are military plane exuded and can be seen many days if you look up. It is easier and more productive than looking for a falling star and much more productive than finding a real four leaf clover. The question is, "What are they, and what are they doing", with 'they' having a double meaning.

As a matter of personal experience, the observation of chemtrails could be described thus: A chemtrail is a white line of partially unknown substances exuded from military planes, causing a trail of 'unknown substance' to follow the course of the airplane. It will extend often from horizon to horizon and sometimes be visible in the sky for longer than forty minutes. Some may expand so rapidly they last only minutes though the length is many times longer than a normal contrail of water vapor. These chemical trails will visibly expand into bumpy patterns of white and sometimes expand so tremendously you could mistake them for clouds - if you had not watched them being exuded and then grow. Oftentime, particularly in early fall and spring, there will be a full sky of chemtrail patterns over large areas, chris-crossing from east to west, north to south. You can watch the planes leaving chemtrails from every direction, the older ones expanded large and gradually 'evaporating' while new ones are formed from horizon to horizon. Most seem to be at a high altitude, while some seem to be much lower.

It is not my intent to portray as official information or convincing opinion, but to relate a little of what I have been observing in the Oklahoma sky for about five years. There is an enormous written and pictorial saga of chemtrail observation throughout the United States online, where you may find pictures, opinions, questions for exploration. All of these pictures presented here were taken by me in the central USA except my one taken in Arizona.

There has been much opinion surmised in magazines, TV programs, conferences and websites about the makeup and meaning of chemtrails and who might be creating them with what purpose in mind. There is some truth stated in these publicized writings and discussions but since the public has not been kept informed of this secretive 'governmental research project', the full and final truths have not yet been discovered.

There are a few seemingly absurd ideas about what is happening to our population with exposure to these chemical-trails, but there have also been scientifically performed studies done on what is said to be chemtrail exudates that show properties fitting with what the govermental announcement gave at origination. There is some factual though extremely limited information which was released at the beginning of this public research test which began in 1997. The Daily Oklahoman published a one-time front page story to inform the public that such research project would be begun by governmental scientists; that it would use microparticles of aluminum and other varied inert substances to determine wind current contours, ranges of partical expansion in relation to time, and dispersion measurements. There would also be "benign viral" dispersion that was said to be harmless to humans and animals for the same purpose. This study was said to be meant to establish information that would help officials respond more specifically to any type of airborne toxin threat to the general population. That is the extent of my personal official knowledge, through this one time public statement from official government sources in that newspaper article.

But have you heard of this? I read it myself. But I cannot find that article in the newspaper archives nor does anyone I have ever asked know about it - until about three months ago when the sky was full of old broad chemtrails, with new tiny ones being produced for most of the day. I took pictures from about 10:00 AM through noon, and again about 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. On that day, at noon, I mentioned to a lady about the sky being 'so full of them', and her immediate response was, "Yes, I saw them this morning but I have been in here working and haven't paid attention". As we spoke, I was pleased to find she had long-term knowledge of the chemtrails and had watched them for several years. It is quite stunning that so many people are not aware of the chemtrails - and the times I have pointed out an especially distinctive one -or several- the reaction is generally -"Oh." But with the occasional curious delight expressed by a new observer, I still sometimes dare to say, "Look up, see there?"

Some observers believe the 'project' is to quietly innoculate our general population against possible airbourne germ warfare.  Others vividly denounce it as some sort of government secret conspiracy for population control. Whatever your estimation of what may be falling from your sky, it may be worthwhile to expend some effort to explore, to seek understanding, and to  act as a patriotic citizen whenever the opportunity may peek at you around a corner.
