Bo Derek, birth name Mary Cathleen Collins, is a film actress and model that entered the Hollywood scene in the 1970s. Her breakthrough role was in 10, which immediately gave her sex symbol status, which is arguably what she is most known for. Well, that, and her famous beaded corn-rowed hairstyle.

What a lot people probably don’t know her for is her status as a conservative Republican. She was a big supporter of President George H. W. Bush and subsequently campaigned for his son, George W. Bush, in both 2000 and 2004. She’s also been spotted at public events with David Dreier, a Republican congressman from Southern California.

She’s also been rumored to have dated White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten. However, when asked on Fox News Sunday about the nature of their relationship, she simply identified Bolten as a close friend.

Derek is also an animal rights activist.

Here is the trailer for Tarzan: The Ape Man with Bo Derek.

She's in that small category of Americans who probably should support Bush's economic policy of transferring tax money to the elite, since she benefits directly. Most people who support Bush don't have that excuse.

She may be a 10 for looks, but only a one in politics! Not much of an actress either although 10 was a hoot!

I agree with her and I'm not one of the elite. Support our troops...

I think you can support the troops regardless of party affliations. Or is it that in the US only Republicans should support the troops?

She is an awful actress but what a rack... 10!
