The top five accidents on waterways are collisions with another vessel, collision with an object, skier accidents, people falling overboard and capsizing.  Do you know which one has the highest fatality rate?  Answer -- People falling overboard.  The second highest rate of death is capsizing.  However the greatest injuries are caused by collision with another vessel.  Although collision with other vessels has the highest injury rate other 66 die this way each year.

b. Open Motorboat

c. Cabin Motorboat

d. Canoe/Kayak

e. Pontoon Boat

If your answered "b" - Open Motorboat you are correct.  Open motorboat account for 2220 causalities each year. Coming in second is Personal watercraft.  The lowest amount of causalities each year are caused by Pontoon boats.  

How many people died from a boating accident while not wear a life jacket. The answer is 557.  The highest rate of died in boating accident while not wear a life jacket is caused by drowning.  Trauma accounts for 85 of those deaths.
