A man should be hairy or shaven? The truth is that the answer to this question is ever changing, and depends on what times you are living in. As a write this article is 2006, and more and more men are starting to shave their bodies to get the look they want. Some do it to feel more "clean", some do it to let the muscles show, and some do it for the ladies. Whatever the reason, body hair removal has become a part of a man grooming and skin care.

Now, don't just go to the bathroom, grab your razor and start spreading shaving cream on your body. No, that's not the best way. Actually maybe in two days, your skin will start itching like crazy! All those little hairs striving to get out to the surface again. And that's not all, bumps may appear, you can cut yourself and... well, I wouldn't recommend it. There are other methods for removing the hair. Let's see what they are:

Waxing

This is like a "crash course" on shaving. Have you ever seen the movie "the 40 year old virgin"? Well, you can find there an approximation on how waxing is. The person in charge will heat wax, until it is liquid and start pouring it on your body, where you want the hair to be removed. A special paper then is put on top of the wax, while it's hot. And then wait to the wax to cool off. Your hair will be stuck to it, and now is just a matter of plucking it. Painful? Well yes, but remember that brave women do this every day!

Laser Hair Removal

This method is becoming increasingly popular. It involves attacking the pigment of the hair with laser. Is intended to cause thermal damage to the hair follicle without damaging surrounding tissues. It takes half a year to get rid of the hair completely, and good news it can last several months or permanent. But (there's always a catch) it is expensive, lowest priced treatments are available at $500, and you have to consult if it will work fine in your type of body hair.

Electrolysis

If you don't like needles this is not your thing. In this process, a needle is inserted under your skin, and then electricity is used to destroy the hair follicle. This is permanent, no more hairs ever, because of the destruction of the follicle. This might be perfect for some people, but he price is higher than the price of the laser removal. When talking about electrolysis, is hard to find prices lower than $1000, but again, you might consider it is worthy.
