The new James Bond movie ‘Quantum of Solace’ breaks UK record by posting a stunning opening day receipts of £4.9 million ($7.92 million) beating Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie, £4.025 million ($6.50 million).

The "Quantum of Solace" movie was released in UK first this Friday with record box office opening.

The movie starring Daniel Craig and Russian actress, Olga Kurylenko continues its story from the previous movie “Casino Royale” and Bond seeks revenge for his murdered lover Vesper Lynd. The movie is directed by Marc Foster, whose previous movie was "The Kite Runner".

The “Casino Royale” movie earned £2.9 million ($4.69 million) on its first day of release and also became the most popular movie in UK in 2006.

The reviews for the new movie are mixed so far.

Mark Monahan in the Daily Telegraph wrote about the movie:

See it for Craig's fully-formed Bond: angry, icily unsentimental, and fleetingly borderline psychotic at the close...The expository dialogue scenes can be dull, and cram in so many machinations and double-crossings that it's easy to lose track of who's duping whom."

However James Christopher from Times said it is an intriguing movie. He wrote: "Really, nobody does it better than the new 007,".

Anthony Quinn from Independent also had high praise for the new movie. He wrote:

"We all know what it is to be bored to death, but have you ever been entertained to death?"

The movie will open soon in the U.S. and other countries in the next few weeks.

I think it will be a great Bond movie, though I like Bourne series movies :)
