48How To Publish A Book, without being afraid of what people think.
My dreams have always been to be a published author. I wrote my first book when I was seventeen. The title was the Candy Store. It took place in 1977. I was working at the local candy store in the neighborhood where I was living. I was attending high school and I needed the money for college. The book was never published. I didn't think anyone would be interested in reading it. I was also afraid that it would show how much I couldn't spell or form sentences. What were my fears are the same fears today. I now realize, the most important thing about writing is the story and the message that I am trying to convey. The most important thing about writing is putting those fears to rest. I was always concerned about what people thought. I put that before anything else.I always believed that what ever I write, if it is written from the heart and with good motivation, I couldn’t go wrong. That pertains to even a letter. Motivation is the key element in deciding what to write and why I am writing it.
