Book Writing and Publishing Help
58Title
Let's start at the start. While the request was for a book structure, I feel obliged to offer you more information than you asked ( or want ). The title of your book is what creates the first impression. The title should be precise and related to the central theme of your narrative. I could tell you a lot more, but I'll keep it simple.
Just head over to Lulu.com, and make use of the Lulu title scorer. This nifty tool will tell you if your title is a hit or a dud. And for those who haven't yet written a book, or have no plans to, this tool can be very useful if you have some free time to spend, and nothing to do. I have spent hours playing with words on Lulu.
Now that you have a fancy title, let's get down to the little matter of your missing book structure....
Natalie Goldberg - Writing Down the Bones
Writing the Landscape of your Mind
By Natalie Goldberg ( Audio Cassette )
What she's saying is that there need be no method, structure or scientific way to write a book. Her way, or lack of it, is to just let whatever is in your mind flow. This would make a creative writing class go into collective hysteria, but the concept is pretty simple. You write about what you experience. Natalie Goldberg is a writer, that's what she knows best. And she writes books about how to write. No structure, no beginnings and middle and ends and agonizing over were to put the hyphen or whether to take out a comma.
The reason this is good for you also is because for an unpublished, un trained writer to try and emulate professional writers and follow style guides is a bit daunting. If you know your subject and you have huge piles of paper written up about it, just start writing your book. Let it flow. You might want to listen to Natalie Goldberg's tapes or attend one of her workshops before you start. It's worth it, to say the least.

Book Structure
If you still think you need a proper and scientific book structure, click here , here or here . What? You don't expect me to re-invent the wheel, do you? There are people who have written books about book structure and others who make a living out of teaching wannabe writers the same thing. I suggest that either you buy a book or sign up for a creative writing class. If you don't want to do that, write the landscape of your mind, and let your editor make sense of it. One more option :
Hire an editor from Craigslist. There are literally thousands of editors and experienced and published novellists waiting for editorial jobs on Craigslist. All you have to do is pose the question on Craigslist - 'Can anyone help me develop the structure of my book?' You'll be flooded by thousands of replies.
The last part is about publishing your book. If you already have a publisher, great. If you think you can find one, good luck. If you have no clue where to start getting your book published, look up 'print on demand' on google. Once you understand the concept, head over to Lulu, and publish your book.

Yeah, I kindof thought you would like that. That's why I saved it for the last. ( LOL ) Another suggestion - head over to absolutewrite.com and hang around the forums. They're much better than the people you will find on Craigslist.
Great resources, why not add the IGroup10Enterprises Project
Writing Down the Bones is a great book! I used it a lot in my undergrad writing classes! You may want to double check on the title thing. It depends on what type of book you are writing. A lot of Publishing companies/agents change the title to something they like... the author has little input in the actual cover of the book. I learned this in a Publishing class I took.
