Know a young adult looking for the next book or series to jump into? I've created a short list of YA literature that I'd suggest checking out. Please don't assume this list is by any means complete, I'm always reading new YA books and so the list is always growing.

But for now here you go. Enjoy!

Book List for YAs

Twilight Series - Stephenie Meyer: If you know anyone of the female persuasion you are guaranteed to know someone who has read Twilight. Head to the bookstore and buy the series now, trust me you will be thanked... but probably not for about three weeks until the reader has finished the series, the books are highly addicting, and anything that is not Twilight related will be pushed to the extreme backburner.

Harry Potter Series - J K Rowling: Harry, Ron, Hermione and He Who Must Not Be Named...enough said.

Chronicles of Narnia - C S Lewis: Before there was Harry Potter and Edward Cullen there was Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy (among many others). This series is a classic for a reason!

The Stupidest Angel - Christopher Moore: May be borderline for this age group, especially younger students, but hilarious nevertheless.

The Gemma Doyle Trilogy - Libba Bray: Really they're girls' books, honestly, really they're girlie girls' books. It's a period piece mixed with magic and loss, and rebellion. Not for all readers but worth a look.

Don't Know Much About Series - Kenneth C Davis: Excellent for young readers looking to learn outside of the classroom, and laugh, laugh their butts off. Facts + Figures + Fun = DKMA Series

Macbeth - William Shakespeare: Witches, murder plots, and battles...great for those looking for the darker side of classic literature.

A Midsummer Night's Dream - William Shakespeare: Laughs, love, and more laughs...great for those looking for the funnier side of classic literature.

The Outsiders - S E Hinton: Great characters, great angst, and a great ending!

The Giver - Lois Lowry: Will affect the reader without question. Hope? Hopefully.
