Zig Ziglar's Biscuits Fleas and Pumphandles CD
The definitive work of Zig Ziglars career
60 Minutes. ISBN#: 156207007CD
Zig Ziglar is a master of sales and positive thinking. He recorded this legacy for the future back in 1972 and has added additional recordings over the years. This one remains the best. He began speaking to audiences Dallas, Texas and spreading throughout the world. I attended a business seminar in the early 19080s that included Zig Ziglar and Maya Angelo, and I have never forgotten it. He made us laugh and think, and she played a guitar and sang to us.
"Biscuits Fleas and Pump Handles" contains common sense, down to earth observations, ideas, and research that MR. Ziglar had accomplishes over many years. It is all founded on the principles of hope and integrity, along with humor. Mr. Ziglar provides a plan for living a balanced and meaningful life in which we can have everything we want if we will only help enough other people attain what they want.
Zig Ziglar has changed lives. Once, at dinner after one of his motivational type conferences, he and some associates left a nice note of thanks and praise with their tips for their waiter, a man in his late 40s or older who has been supporting his family with this hard work for many years. The waiter read the not and chased out onto the street after the Ziglar party to tell them how much the note meant to him. He was nearly in tears. Zig Ziglar is a master of humanity.
No Excuse Leadership
Lessons from the U.S. Army's Elite Rangers
Edited by Brace Barber
John Wiley & Sons Inc
ISBN: 9780471488033
Despite many folks' wish that there be no war, no need for national defense and no need for the US Armed Forces, I think that each branch has its successes that can be applied to the world of business or any other kind of leadership position.
Leadership that is effective wins out over the competition. The Editor, Brace Barber, offers his own story from his time in the US Army Rangers, along those of nine other Army Rangers. Barber outlines the basics of the planning, actions, and determination required to win. Each chapter is a testimony of personal pain and victory. They shine a light on the United States Army and its fundamental leadership principles:
1) Seek and take responsibility for your actions and
2) Know yourself and actively pursue self-improvement.
Adopting these principles for continuous improvement will add to the quality of your life and the success of any business.
Lest you think this may be a defense of something that is too gung-ho and war-happy, remember the Asian proverb that encompasses the same principals:
"Happy where I am,
Also willing to improve."

Thanks
Interesting list, Patty! Will definitely be looking into these books! Another great one I have is called "The Success Principles" by Jack Canfield. He is an excellent writer and leader himself! Thanks for the list!
