The Boondock Saints 2 is coming! Ten years since the sensational cult classic the long anticipated sequel The Boondock Saints: All Saints Day will be here November 2009. This features a spoiler or two maybe so if you haven't seen the first you should do so, to be ready for the second which is sure to be way bigger deal than the first.

If you missed the first it is because it debuted on limited release in 1999. It was suppose to be bigger but it release time was right around the Columbine Shootings in Colorado and people were not prepared for a violent film about vigilante brothers but sensational DVD sales brought it back to life.

The first movie is phenomenal and everyone is back except for maybe Agent Smecker (Willem Dafoe) who isn’t listed in the credits. Also it has our favorite Delivery Boy Rocco back but only in a dream sequence. This one will feature a couple more stars like Peter Fonda and Judd Nelson but nobody really high profile so kind off like the first movie. But the best news is Troy Duffy is back writing and directing it so it should be authentic and great like the original and now we have a whole movie to see how destructive the Il Duce (Billy Connolly) can be.

I can’t wait this really became a classic because an amazing fan base and word of mouth. The fans truly made this sequel happen. If this is your first time hearing of this film you’re missing out.

If you missed the first movie here is the premise really briefly; Irish twin brothers Connor & Murphy McManus live and work in Boston. They come to realize it is there job and God’s will for them to begin wiping out the mafia and criminals who are robbing and torturing the innocent of their home city. In the middle of this you find FBI Agent Paul Smecker, a genius detective, whose job becomes to hunt the boys. Smecker has trouble tough because Boston is a tough town and locals don’t talk easily. But when Smecker starts believing in what the brothers are doing the right thing he must make a decision the law way or divine executions! It is filled with great characters like Rocco and be sure not to miss Ron Jeremy play a criminal scumbag.

If you haven’t seen Boondock Saints, don’t rent it, go out and buy it that way you will be ready for the sequel in November. Until than Nomine Patris, Filii, et Spiritus Sancti! Amen!
