Boost Metabolism Naturally

There are several ways available now-a-days at your disposal to help boost your metabolism to a more faster and efficient rate. You need to take into account your lifestyle, and how much time you have to spend putting them into action.

The different options to boost your metabolism naturally must be taken into consideration and some of them are listed and discussed in this article. They are all natural and free from drugs or supplements.

The most important thing is to eat breakfast. So many dieters fail to understand this and frequently omit this first meal of the day believing it will help them lose weight.  believe it or not, this is great way of getting the body working smoothly right at the start of the day.and you don't need to eat a big breakfast. In fact a small amount of calories is fine.

Good choice of foods include oatmeal, fruit juice, eggs, peanut butter spread onto half a bagel and some natural grains such as porrige. Stay away from highly refined cereals that are high in sugar and salt. Be sure to include some protein in your breakfast such as low fat yogurt or cheese.

Build some muscles. Muscles directly affect the metabolism because they use energy, even when you are resting. Supplement your diet with plenty of soy protein and soy products. Soy proteins have been shown to positively affect the body's output of powerful fat burning thyroid hormones.

Supplement your diet with friendly fats like flax seed oil, monosaturated oils like olive oil, fish oils or a blend of all of the above. Friendly fats are a fantastic metabolism-boosting supplement.

To boost the metabolism rate naturally eat balanced meals every two to three hours. To keep the body chugging along optimally, you need to keep it fueled, but not over-fueled. In other words you need to eat but not too much.

This works wonders as many dieters claim. Take your bodyweight, multiply it by 10 or 12 and divide it by 6 the number you are left up with is the amount of calories that you should have in an every single meal of a day. Drink plenty of water about 8-10 glasses daily as this helps the body to function well

Frequent small meals are the key to successful weight loss and there is evidence to support it. Eating protein rich diets like low fat dairy products, lean meat and skinless chicken is found to increase the rate a which calories are burned to about 25 percent.

Drinking about two litres of water a day is also recommended. Some foods contain antioxidants that boost the metabolic rate such as green tea. This can boost the metabolism more than drinking coffee due to it's antioxidant content.

The body's temperature affects the metabolic rate, and if it's either very cold or very hot the rate goes up by 20 percent. You can have a cold shower or have a sauna to raise your metabolism rate naturally

Foods That Speed Up Your Metabolism

Because many of us are not genetically blessed with a high metabolism, it is natural for us to search natural ways. There are plenty of factors like exercise and other methods which are important such as healthy food including asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, lettuce and zucchini. These foods have such a low amount of calories that they need more to digest them.

For example broccoli contains 25 calories and needs 80 calories to digest it. This leaves a net loss of 55 calories. A negative calorie diet is probably the best and most effective way to raise metabolism rate naturally. They are also great to include in your weight loss plan.

Add spices especially chili pepper or ginger to your diet as these generate heat and can raise the metabolism by 50 percent. However if you aren't used to spicy foods add them gradually to your diet!

Low fat milk, oatmeal and whole grain cereal are also recommended which have calcium, complex carbohydrates and fibre. These help to keep insulin levels low after eating fats. This is good because the spikes in the production of insulin send a signal to the body that it's time to start storing fat. A slow metabolism causes you to burn much fewer calories. Calcium found in milk boosts metabolism, but use skimmed or semi skimmed milk.

A university of Tennessee study have found that dieters who consume between 1200 and 1300 milligrams of calcium a day lost nearly twice as much weight as dieters getting less calcium. Be careful though as milk and calcium can cause bloating and colon problems.

Foods like salmon, tuna, and sardines have ingredients like omega 3 fatty acids. They work by altering the level of hormone called leptin in the body. Some studies confirm that the leptin directly influences the metabolism deciding whether you burn calories or store them as fat.

Researches at the Wisconsin university have found that mice with the low leptin levels have a higher metabolic rate and burn fat more quickly than those with higher leptin levels. The best way to lower leptin levels is to eat plenty of fish. If you don't eat fish than fish-oil supplements may work just as well as fish. French researchers have found that men who replaced 6 grams of fat in their diets with the 6 grams of fish oil were able to boost the metabolic rate and lose two pounds of weight in just twelve weeks.

Green tea has become very popular as a detox and Vitamins such as E, D, C and B are great for boosting the metabolism. It's far better to get these vitamins from fresh fruit and vegetables than pills, but it doesn't do any harm to supplement your diet as much of the nutrients are destroyed during storage and cooking.

Try steaming your vegetables as this will preserve many more nutrients and is much healthier. Green vegetables are a great source of vitamins and minerals that your body needs to stay healthy. Getting healthy and boosting the metabolism go hand in hand.

How You Can Boost Metabolism After Exercise Intensity

Not surprisingly exercise is the best fool proof way to increase your metabolism. and it works every time.

Keeping oneself active through out the day like aerobic exercise coupled with the resistance training are useful. If you are doing a job that requires sitting at a desk for long hours find some ways to involve physical activity and movement that takes you away from the desk, even for short durations as often as possible. By increasing the heart rate you can increase the metabolic rate.

Aim for 3-5 sessions a week, at anywhere from 20-50 minutes a session. Generally the higher the intensity of exercise and the longer the session the faster the metabolic rate is achieved.

You don't need to join a gym, but even a 20 minute brisk walk each day will boost your metabolism. Walk up stairs at work instead of taking the elevator, and walk to the shops if you only need to carry a few small items home. It will boost your metabolism and save on petrol!

Do some gardening. Digging or just pulling up weeds uses energy. Give your house a vigarous spring clean. You will have a lovely clean home and boost your metabolism at the same time!

Build some muscles. Muscles directly affect the metabolism because they burn calories just to maintain, even when you are resting. Supplement your diet with plenty of soy protein and soy products.
