Irradiation symbol

Toxins and our Fruits and Vegetables

I love going out of town to a BIG Supermarket. I love to see all the different options when it comes to buying fruits and vegetables. I usually start with the fruits, until this writing I didn't even realize I did that...hummm. My finace showed me one day how to test the fruit, "just use your nose" he said. No one ever shared with me how to use my nose to test the fruit. It is so simple it's silly. If it smells like fruit it's a good chance that it is going to be pretty good. If there is no smell--leave it there! It probably was picked before its peak and has been irradiated.

What's irradiation? Well it is kinda like a huge Microwave that "zaps" the raw foods with the amount of radiation comparable to 10,000,000 x-rays. Dr. Patricia Fitzgerald who wrote The Detox Solution explains the process that not only does it kill the insects and bacteria but it also kills the live enzymes in the food itself. Without live enzymes, our bodies do not digest at the optimal level. So if your produce or meats have the "cute little healthy" looking symbol on it...leave it right there!

Look for locally grown produce or at least in the US. Did you know that some countries we receive imports from still use DDT, even though United States banned it years ago. DDT has been studied for years because of it's carcinogenic effects. If you like reading, read Silent Spring, by Rachel Carson. This highly successful international selling book exposes the use of pesticides in 1962. The informaition has been highly ignored as the US still allows over 1.2 billion pounds of pesticides to be sprayed on our foods. If you can afford organic--wise choice!

Oh, by the way! Do you know what our bodies do with pesticides? First it tries to get rid of them but some just can't be taken care of by our liver, kidneys, etc. so our body stores them in our fat tissue. Cellulite is highly toxic! Don't eat cellulite!

This brings me to another irritating fact. Have you noticed quite often all apples are the same shape? That really is a miracle that the tree grows all the same size and shape apples. Or are they genetically engineered? Even though the FDA has approved this technology, some are far from thrilled. Research in Nature magazine shows that GE corn meant to kill off insects has killed off neighboring monarch butterfly. They died by ingesting milk thistle that was covered with pollen from the corn. Hummmm. Lets think for a moment. If it kills butterflies, then...what...is it...doing to our babies....our teens....us!

Before I stress you out too much, I'll stop. These are passions of mine, so I will be writing more on toxins, ADD, ADHD, food additives, personal care products...etc. But for today. Do some reading, get invoved in what is going into your body. Making small changes is better than sticking your head back in the sand! Bless your health.
