Borzoi : Guide
57
Borzois were imported to America in the 1890's, and have been appreciated here ever since for their gentle, dignified manner. The borzois coat is known to shed. Borzois require vigorous exercise to keep them in fit condition. Borzois are very quiet dogs who seldom bark. Altough they are large dogs, they will happily curl up in a corner very comfortably.
Temperament: The borzoi is a quiet, sweet, intelligent, independent, moderately active dog. They are very affectionate with people they know well. When training a borzoi it is important to remember that it cannot understand harsh treatment or tolerate punishment, and will be very unhappy if a raised voice is part of it's daily life. The borzoi is a amiable and gentle dog but is not great with children since it is not very playful and dislikes rough housing. Overall the borzoi is a very loving, sweet, and intelligent dog that may be right for you if you have the time and commitment that it takes to owning this lovely dog.
