Bottle Tops - Genius!
82
I just witnessed, for the first time, a commercial for Bottle Tops. They are the latest As Seen On TV product, and as a infomercial connoisseur, I have to say that I am extremely intrigued.
The idea behind these little million dollar bills, is simply to turn a can of soda or beer into a bottle in order to preserve the carbonation for much longer than usual. If they work, they are one of the smartest products to have hit the Direct Response marketing scene...ever.
The Bottle Caps look like the top portion of an actual 20oz bottle. It snaps onto an open can and becomes air-tight. As person can now screw a cap on and off preserving the beverage for extended periods of time.
Bottle Tops also prevent spills, which is nice for families with rowdy children running around on their sugar highs!
There really isn't a big downfall to this product. The rainbow colors that they come in seem to make the product appear more like toys and can set some people off. However, it could also turn a lot of people on to the product, so really it is not all that big of a deal.
I am a little skeptical only because of my experience with bottled soda. I find that the carbonation of my bottled soda does not last long at all. In fact, the carbonation of my canned soda usually lasts quite a bit longer.
With that said, if my canned beverage lasts long on its own, the Bottle Tops can really only improve the situation. It may take some time getting used to the look and feel of this product when in use, but that is such a minor speed bump for this product.
Based solely on the basic idea of functionality of this product, I would recommend Bottle Tops to anyone and everyone that drinks anything from a can. They are only $10 and you get 12 re-usable Bottle Tops! I will be placing my order as soon as I publish this Hub. I'll be sure to fill you all in if you haven't already tried them yourselves!

I would consider myself a savy As Seen On TV buyer. I know how to pick the good products and which ones to stay away from!
R.I.P. Billy Mays
Overshadowed by the death of Michael Jackson, Pitchman Billy Mays also passed away this week. He was an icon of the DR marketing world, an annoying voice on your television, and a great salesman. His presence in your living room will be noticeably different, for better or for worse.
If he was still around today, he would say, "Hi, Billy Mays here for Bottle Tops!"

Mays was THE pitchman of the last decade, to be sure, his voice will be missed! I may not have bought the stuff, but I loved his enthusiasm!
This seems to be a great product. If you try it, let us know!
Not sure about this "bottle tops" thing, mainly because I detest cans. I try to avoid cans as much as possible, as they pollute our environment. I may have gone for this bottle tops thing if it would help us ecologically
Interesting concept...wonder if it will catch on....
We'll be looking for an update. Thanks for sharing. I'd say my hubby would try it out on his Bud cans, but they never last long enough to need a cap, he he.....
Thanks everyone for the comments....the one thing I failed to mention that jennifer brought up...these would onyl be good for soda. Nobody in their right mind would let a beer sit long enough to need these!
I, too, think that "bottle top" is a wonderful new creation. My family often buy canned beverages because they are less expensive and fit easily in the fridge with their popular "fridge paks". We try to do our environmental duty, though, we save our empty cans and recycle about once a month. The idea of no more spills and longer lasting flavor is great. It seems so simple - why didn't we think of this before!?!?
Re: BirteEdwards,
Aluminum cans are nearly 100% recyclable as opposed to plastic bottles which are much less recyclable, and often end up in trash cans. (Just like the plastic water bottle issues that have been in the press). Bottle Tops are reusable over and over, promote recycling of aluminum cans, and have about 1/3 the total plastic of a single pop bottle....ecologically sound indeed!
Where is the web site that you can order these I put in
www.mybottletop.com and that is not it I want to order these can anyone help
it's at buybottletops.com... I'm also thinking of trying these. :o)
I would buy these from the website in a split second, if the shipping wasn't such a blatant rip-off! $10 for the first six, plus $6.99 shipping, six more for FREE plus another $6.99 shipping: $23.98.
