Bums and Tits will they bring you hits?
Many believe that sex is still the best marketing tool online or off.
I thought I might test the theory with this hub. I am not much interested in pornography, but beautiful human form? That is another matter.I see beautiful hot women who are in some way sexy every day. Hub-pages is full of sexy avatars and hubs on beautiful Indian Women in particular. Most have heaps of high quality photos of ordinary looking women.
The hub-page URL is innocuous enough "bottoms and hits" could be about anything.
To get hits I could do all the right things up front of course. Lots of widgets, links, shares, text , video and poll capsules and .....lots of pictures of beautiful women! I will find some and load them later, but for now I am curious as to results without all the SEO bells and whistles.I will make the article long enough to allow Google to put AdSense ads down the side and use a few expensive AdWords keywords throughout the text, and add more. I will make another text capsule later that start from here and I will break the longest paragraph down into more text capsules after I have tested without the sexy pictures of beautiful women.
this text in the middle of the above paragraph used keyword like AdSense and AdWords in the body of the paragraph, and this will form part of the test.
OK I think it is long enough for the first test. I will include one picture of a scantily clad beautiful woman only. And so the test of sex and marketing on hub-pages begins.I may just say at this point Beautiful tits delightful bums are good to look at.
I have been married to two girls that had great bums, and really don't mind looking at girls bottoms. As this hub ages I will be making it more marketable. The trouble with a lot of graphics is that they leave little space for the ads so I am going longer with the text and adding male bodies to the mix. I will have a female friend choose the male ones, as that may not be my forte!
Whoa! this hub got banned for 2 days! My female friend who chose them may have gone overboard a bit. She is a bit of a perv.
OK the male bottoms had to go, for you girls who missed them, I will try to find some less raunchy replacements., the over-exposed bikini girl and the the shot of a famous porn star's bottom (in short shorts) are gone also just to be sure to be sure of not getting flagged.
Update.
With all the pictures removed except one, the performance of this hub has not changed!
It is still getting more hits than any other of my hubs by a mile.This hub has had thousands of hits without attracting AdSense.We will find out why and how to change that as the experiment progresses.
No name capsule
The next part of the test is to continue to fill the middle part of this hub with words, like I am doing now, and here I will deliberately avoid pointing to any particular subject. This is filler and this content will change and form part of the experiment I am conducting. Nothing is set in concrete here, any ideas from my fellow hubbers will be most welcome and can be incorporated in others hubs as well.

remove a few after this site has been up a bit longer.For now the only
change I will make is to pad the middle of the hub out a bit more as I
am doing now.Words used here will allow the page to be longer and make
enough space to fit the ads down the side OK that's done for now.
Ok that paragraph was long and fairly inert, so I will move on to the next stage and put in one very sexy young lady at the top and that will be all except for the image text for that picture which will include one keyword. The next sentences are more filler, as this capsule is designed to be meaningless fluff.
With enough words we will hopefully see some unrelated adds from adsense.

New adwords strategy for this capsule I will use a couple of words lik bra, and panties a couple of times as well as the word breast in this sentence and one other to see what happens with AdSense. If I use the words bra and panties, I may get some underware ads, so I will leave this capsule for now and publish again.

This is the start of optimization for AdSense. I will make this capsule long now to allow space for AdSense and to test words and pictures that are closely related and mentioned in this capsule.The video of the female porn star has had a lot of hits on YouTube and mentioning it again I will see what Google thinks of it.
I have removed some of the words that were over done, and will see what happens there too. Many of us have theories about making money with AdSense so lets see if we can learn a bit more about how hub pages performs.
My current thinking is that it is much easier to get hits for keywords on hubpages than it is on individual sites, so I will try some keywords that would not make it elsewhere.
After I have enough words, (say 1200) it should start to earn. I hope that we all learn something from this experiment, even if it is just that I have it all wrong!
Please leave any comments that may contribute to understanding the Google think. I will be trying another experiment with a different hub name to see how much weight Google puts on the name itself. I do not pretend to know how any of this will work, but I am having a ball doing this, and in reality do not care too much as I can't see it making much money just from one hub. I will try to keep it within Hub Pages guidelines, and if you think it is getting borderline, let me know. Thanks to all those who have commented, the idea is to help everyone to get a better idea of what works on hub pages. So far this is the most number of hits I have had for a hub. The hub pages hits are already phenomenal! Google hits are way up, but still no adds. Lets see what happens now with the addition of this long capsule.
I have not lost sight of the fact that this is all just a bit of fun and will not be upset if it does nothing. My thought is that this hub will be full of adsense very soon if I continue to fill it with words. I am trying to figure out how much the wording in the middle matters.

I had a hub with the word "sex" in the title and it got double the number of page views of any other hub I ever created. I'll be interested to see how you do here!
I don't see any ads, the only ad I see is from yield build and the rest of the hub is missing ads. You will find that you will get a lot of hits through google and yahoo, as I did with my article "Naughty in the Bedroom" , however being on the U.S. all of those hits raked in a mere $1.29. I enjoyed the ranking but google was cheap, cheap, cheap.
Misha I filled the middle of the hub with inert text to make a bit of room for the ads.

Earnestshub: Interesting idea for an experiment. Wouldn't it be a hoot(er) if this ends up being your best-producing hub ever? LOL. But I must make a complaint/suggestion. As it now stands, the hub is misleading. The tits part is well covered (although the tits themselves are not very well covered:-). But there is not a "bum" to be seen anywhere. If I were coming to the hub with the expectation of seeing derrieres -- or even homeless beggars -- I would be disappointed:-). MM

Mighty Mom I bow to your wisdom and will make the necessary adjustment along with Misha's appraisal of the potential over-use of the word sex. Thank you for contributing to this, I had not considered the earnings, as other more experienced hubbers have tried before and if AEvans only got $1.29 from her great hub, I am unlikely to retire out of adsense from this one! (wish I knew how to make smiley face.)

The number of hits is proving my theory may be correct! Time will tell.
You are such a warm person and I admire you for going the extra mile and testing the waters, also let me know about the earnings as maybe I need to correct something in adsense to generate more revenue. I know $1.29 nuts isn't it, I didn't have a single Ad on my article and the only thing listed there was YieldBuild in itty bitty writing. If you wish to know how to make a smiley face here you go.
Look at your keyboard, do you see where the letter "L" is ? The next key should be your colon and semicolon key.
At the top is a row of numbers, 1-0 9 key and 0 key are used for your smiles.
Hold your shift key, push the colon key , use your left hand and press the "0" key, if you press the 9 key while doing this , it will give you a frown. :)

Thanks JamaGenee, so far the add fairy has been unkind. I even put another bum picture up! Lots of fun seeing hundreds of hits and no adds. Interesting to see what happens today when I make "adjustments". I will now make the changes suggested by Misha and Mighty mom to see what happens.
You may notice that the hub name is "Bottoms and hits", and no SEO has been done to include the hub name yet.
This is an interesting experiment. It will be fun to see how it goes in a month or so.
It is a bit of a giggle isn't it? I will keep making changes and writing about them in the hub itself.

I have come here from a comment on my hub in which you have invited toi look at this hub. This hub may attract many visitors but it will not earn revenue for you. You have put enough space for adwords and adsense but there is none.
I think, you have experimented well and have spoken honestly about your experiment. I am enjoying writing my hubs about economy, America, China, India, management and of course, about my own business Gems and Jewelry.

Sex sells even without content is the hypothesis of your experiment. Your experiment needs a variable or a comparison otherwise it is merely an observation. If you add the variable of the word religion and count the pageviews in comparison with the word sex then you would have done an experiment. Another thing that you can do to make your experiment variable and measurable is to show two pictures of the male physique and see if the page views will be as overwhelming:)

I am pleased with the hubpages responses. I have had one sexist remark, and that was not from hubpages. I deleted it.
Earnest, my hubs are an eclectic mix of art, poetry, travel and this and that. Just your regular old flotsum and jetsum that you'd expect from a brain cluttered with more diverse interests than you can shake a stick at. Strangely enough, out of those thirty hubs, just one hub accounts for nearly a quarter of my traffic, and it's the one with the words 'nude' and 'naked' in the title! LOL!
Thank you for that Amanda, that is quite informative. This site was taken down by hubpages last night. I guess the male derrieres were a bit raunchy. Just to be sure of getting published I have taken all the pictures off except one and replaced the others with less "adult" pictures.
I guess this changes the experiment a bit, but it will be interesting to see what happens when I stuff a few words like nude in the belly of this hub!
LOL -nice experiment - sad about the lack of male bums though- that made me a bit disapointed really! To this day I get the most hubtraffic to my Australia Movie hub http://hubpages.com/hub/Australia-the-Movie is the "hot pic" title sub-title that gets them I think...

Thank you sunforged. The reason my hub URL is different and not related became part of my SEO experiment. I did not match the URL, but it is more related to the meaning of the hub than the hub name. (bums and tits.) It does not seem to have affected the number of hits though!

Great hub to start with! I have had a bit of fun with this hub, and am planning to edit it again soon. The bra and panties may need a bit of work along with the rest of the hub. I started it as an experiment, it gets a squillion hits, but nilche earnings so far. I'm gonna work on that over a beer. I'll chuck a couple in the freezer if you tell me when your getting here.
Anything with the word sex in it gets my click. As I have explained my fingers are the culprits,they click on the bad links against all my protests. Hello and good morning blondepoet! I have not seen that hub yet, as I try not to be found hanging around the change rooms in dress shops, and I look very weird in drag my dress shopping is minimal. I got over 5000 hits with this hub, most of them in the few days it was up before it got removed for TOS violation.Since I removed some raunchiness it has not recovered! It is getting around 100 hits a day at the moment.
The url for bums and tits is "bottoms and hits" by the way, so I was trying to keep it as nice as I could. I will go check out your hub.

It's true, they do get a lot of hits. The problem is they do not hold AdSense well unless it is in underwear or lingerie. You could try linking to bums and hits (the hub name) and see if the traffic works for you. It makes niltch for me in adsense on the page.

I admit that I picked this Hub as the first of yours to read because of the title. The title caught my eye because it stood out from the titles of all your other Hubs, and I wondered, what's he up to? Also, it is the Hub of yours with the most comments (always a sign something good is going on). And another admission, even the Trove is not immune to being sucked in by the suggestion of sex. Ahem. Perhaps you should add something along the lines of 'forex trading for bums' 'do Hollywood stars get insurance for their boobs' 'even bums can afford foreclosed homes these days'. In fact I may even pen something myself along those lines :-)
