A boutonniere is a flower worn on the left side of the suits lapel on formal occasions such as a wedding. It can be one or more flowers and some greenery. If worn for a wedding the groom´s boutonniere coordinates with the bride´s bouquet.

A boutonniere is worn by the groom (the boutonniere is a little more elaborate to distinguish him), the groomsmen, and the father of the bride and the groom.
