"Addie" from the Brahmin Toasted Almond collection

Several years ago, while thumbing through Oprah's "O" Magazine, I spotted an advertisement that stopped me dead in my tracks. It was an ad for a purse, not just any purse, but the most beautiful purse I had ever seen. The warm caramel colors and the crocodile texture was simply gorgeous. The manufacturer was Brahmin. I tore out the ad and logged on to see where I could find such a purse.

The Brahmin website was filled with styles and colors and I soon found the purse from the ad. I also noticed that the purse cost over $300 at Dillards!

Lusting After the Brahmin

Each time I go into Dillards I must look at the Brahmin handbags and check to see if any of them are on clearance. The best deal I've ever found there was for the "Jackie". They had it reduced to $75. At the time, I felt the bag was too large and convinced myself that one day I'd find the perfect bag at the perfect price.

I've watched them on eBay and even on eBay they sell for close to $300. I should have bought the "Jackie" for $75 and sold it on eBay for $300 and bought the one I wanted! Oh well.

So, here I sit several years later and I still lust after the Brahmin handbags. Perhaps my family will read this hub and purchase me a nice Brahmin Toasted Almond handbag for my birthday or Christmas.

You owe it to yourself to check them out.

Very cool hub girl. I love purses too. I used to collect vintage purses and sold a ton of them on Ebay when I got tired of them.

Wow, love that purse! One great thing about a beautiful new purse, it always looks good on you, even if you are having a bad hair day or your butt looks too big in those pants.

Of course, I'm only speaking for myself....

Thanks, landthatilove! I have never had a really nice purse, but I'm holding out for this one.

Thanks, elisabethkcmo! You're right about nice purses masking our other flaws!

gorgeous! Of course we call them handbags in my part of the world. A purse is the small thing for notes and change - a wallet to you!

Thank you Philipo!

Thank you Catherine! Yes, I totally understand you since I'm married to an Englishman. We also don't refer to our paper money as notes, we call them bills. LOL

Hey you, How I remember the days of handbags and that one is very attractive. I gave them up after my second son was born, it always got in the way when I bent down to pick them both up at the same time. It was a pain in the you-know-what. I'm a wallet girl now and it has to be slim enough to fit in my pocket!

Okay, just to show my love, I read this hub, KCC Big Country! I admit, I'm always intrigued by anything you write, because I like the fluidity of your prose (did you like that?) I'm not sure whether that many guys are into purses (at least not the guys that I know) but it sure doesn't hurt to know about them! Just don't ask me to carry your purse for you and we'll remain friends! LOL. Thanks KCC Big Country. I'm forever your fan!

Thanks for stopping by Ethel! Banned from buying handbags? Oh no! I really didn't reveal much about my handbag-buying habits, but I have never owned an expensive handbag and I rarely buy a new purse. I bet I have bought fewer than 10 in my entire adult life. So, for me to be in love with this bag is a big deal.

Dohn, you're so funny! By the way, Brahmin also makes very attractive wallets for men as well. My husband likes this style too. I keep thinking he's going to buy me the handbag, but I'm evidently not hinting loud enough. :) Regarding my writing style...it's a curse, I write like a talk. You know I'm a huge fan of yours!
