This article is actually a forward mail sent to me by one of my best mates and I cant describe in words how thankful I was to receive it and read such an interesting and useful thing which I really hope and pray that there would be no use of it at all but still it is something I think everyone should know about and that’s why I share it here with everyone and extend the knowledge provided to me.

What is a Stroke?

The whole point here is what is a brain stroke? A brain stroke also called a stroke or a brain attack is known to happen when the arteries that lead directly to the brain are damaged, split apart or are blocked. The cells in the brain begin to die if the needed oxygen is not provided to it. Brain is the functioning and controlling part of the human body and arteries and veins are its suppliers and providers. If any of these are damaged the brain stops working or causes inability in specific cases. Most of the strokes are caused by blood clotting.

The Doctor’s Say !

According to a neurologist (doctor who deals in the treatment and diagnosis of the nervous system), a victim suffering brain attack can be totally recovered if diagnosed within 3 hours of the stroke. It is tough but the main trick here is to identify the stroke, then diagnose it and then medically treating the patient for at least 3 hours.

Identifying the Killer

The killer here is the brain stroke that actually can kill a person within 4 hours of the stroke. It can be identified very easily and the trick forms of 3 basic alphabets. “S” “T” “R” , are the three letters that form Smile, Talk and Raise.

The first is to ask the patient to Smile.

The second is to ask the patient to speak a really simple sentence (the grass is green outside).

Finally, you ask the patient to raise both their arms.

If you think the patient has any problem whatsoever in doing any of these tasks, you should immediately call the AMBULANCE and explain the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Another most significant sign to recognize a brain stroke is ask the patient to show his/her tongue. If you think it is crooked or has bent to either side, it is a sign of brain attack.

nice harry!

u compiled it very well. The consequences of stroke are serious and sometimes lethal. if it is not diagnosed in time then it would lead to paralysis or may be to death. i know someone who has been paralysed because of the stroke, which was not discovered in early hours!
