Students from business schools in Texas and Virginia received a warm Indian welcome as they arrived in India.

And the man drawing them to India is Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, clearly after being a hit with students from Harvard, Lalu remains the centre of attraction.

"I told them that apart from Railways, I have a vision for many other things. I have to go much higher. But not to heaven," said Lalu Yadav, Railway Minister.

It's not just his vision for the Railways, but Lalu the person that most of the students seemed more interested in.

So between photo-ops and lectures as he shared the secrets of his success, there was an open invitation for those of Indian origin.

"I want to invite all Indian students studying abroad and tell them that they are welcome to come join Indian Railways anytime," said Lalu Yadav, Railway Minister.

As for those who were from Bihar, the warmth and affection had a typical Bhojpuri touch to it, and not surprisingly, Lalu struck a chord with the students.

"For someone like with him no background, no MBA, to make it this big, it's amazing," said Allison Rhodes, Student, University of Texas.

Clearly Brand Lalu is making the most of it, as he gets ready to go to Harvard and Stanford next month to share pearls of management wisdom.
