Do you have a closet full of your kids' beanie babies?  Boxes of Airwalk shoes and Pokemon Cards?  Of course you do.  Every American has participated in some sort of fad.  How many pairs of Croc shoes you own?  Exactly.  Malcolm Gladwell's informative and clever novel The Tipping Point discusses what exactly makes a fad a fad.

This novel explores lots of case studies that aren't limited to fads.  For example, Gladwell explores case studies dealing with the use of crack, and the rise of the STD syphillis.  Definitely not your childs' bedtime story, but a very interesting read.

If you want to know why you've bought beanie babies, crocs in every color, and Pokemon cards, be sure to pick up The Tipping Point.
