The other type of implant available is the saline implant. The saline implants are filled with a salt solution. Because of the solution, the saline implants are proven to be a slightly more safe alternative than the silicone. For example, in the instance that one or both implants rupture, the saline in the implants will be better absorbed in one's body as opposed to the gel-like substance that fills the silicone implants. Even though the saline may present a better health option, the silicone implants have been said to have a better appearance when compared to the saline implants.
You know your body the best, and with the help of your doctor, you can evaluate which type of implant would be ideal for you and your lifestyle. Perhaps the most common, and arguably, viewed as the most important aspect of breast augmentation is the size. As mentioned earlier, you should be the one to decide the new size of your breasts. It is important not to let others influence your decision. You should make the choice with which you are comfortable.
What Size Makes You Happy?
Before receiving the implants, you will meet with a doctor in order to decide on the size of the implants that you will be acquiring. The sizing is a little bit different depending on the type of implants that you will be receiving. The silicone option has a little less flexibility when it comes to the sizing. The silicone implants are already pre-filled, and the size cannot be reduced or enhanced. If you chose the silicone option, then you will meet with your doctor to pre-determine a size to order for your surgery.
The process of determining the size of saline implants presents different types of options. Since saline implants contain a salt solution, it is possible to customize the implants to the exact size that you desire. The amount of the solution in the implant is measured in the form of cc's. Each cc measures approximately 1 milliliter. For example, the different sizes of cc's in the saline breast implants range from 120cc to 960cc.
It is important that you decide on the correct amount of cc's before you receive your implants, because very rarely will doctors add saline to breast implants that have already been implanted. In conclusion, there are many factors to consider when deciding to get breast implants. Remember, make the choices and decisions with which you are comfortable, and the ones that make you happy.
