Brent Street Studios is an Australian Performance Arts school located at the Sydney Entertainment Quarter.
It was founded twenty-two years ago in Drummoyne, Sydney by Marianne, Karen, and Jacqui Howard, each of whom are successful in the entertainment industry.
It then quickly became a success and moved out of its small church hall to a large studio in Rozelle.
Still the number of students kept growing, so again it had to move to a building across the street from the previous location in Rozelle, and afterward to Camperdown, Waterloo, and finally to Fox Studios.
Brent Street has always been comitted to helping students from all over the world,transform into successful performing artists.
The school consists of some of Australia's greatest teachers and choreographers,including Jacqui Howard, Kelley Abbey, Cameron Mitchell, Christopher Horsey, Leah Howard, and Matt Lee.
They
teach over one thousand part-time students, one hundred full-time students and
ninety Talent Development students who have been on several television shows.
Some of the classes and other opportunities Brent Street offers are a beginner's class for three-year-olds, a Full Time Certificate IV Performing Arts(Accredited by VETAB) course,a Full Time Classical and Contemporary course, and even a Talent Development High School, which is a program for elite high school students that provides both academic and performing arts training.
There is also a recently added class, which is for beginner and intermediate students in the pre-teen to senior age range.
The types of performing arts that are taught include ballet, hip-hop, jazz, singing, drama, acrobatics, musical theatre, drama, and tap dancing.
In the school, there are six dance studios, a theatre,2 private singing studios, and a two-story administration block, which holds offices and an area for the high school.
Brent Street also offers a professional production group and a talent agency for students who are interested in becoming professional performers.
The school's facilities are top of the line, and the spacious studios even attract artists and various groups and stars, including Marcia Hines and the band, Human Nature, who are seeking a place to rehearse.
Other
events that have taken place in the studios are auditions for major musicals,
such as Wicked, it
was the principal location of the film, Razzle Dazzle, and where the cast
rehearsals and warmups of
another movie, called Mao's Last Dancer, and of television shows, such as
Dancing with the Stars, It
Takes Two, and Australian Idol, took place.
Brent Street Studios is widely known for being the top school for performing arts training in Australia.
It also has a reputation for excellent choreography and provides some of the best training for its students.
There are an incredibly high amount of people who have achieved success and fame in Australia who were once students at this school. Some famous performing artists who are ex-students include Matt Lee,who is a judge of the show, So You Think You Can Dance, Rebecca Tapia from Australian Idol and was the Lead in Disney's Australian production of High School Musical,Tahyna Tozzi and Adam Saunders from the Australian television drama series, Blue Water High, Nathan Foley and Charlie Delaney ex High 5, Casey Burgess (Current high5) Sharni Vinson ex Home and Away and about to film the lead part in the new Hollywood blockbuster Step Up 3.
Charlotte Best and Jordan Rodrigues (Home and Away) and Natalie Bassingthwaite recently filmed her new video 1000 stars here at Brent Street.

Hi from another Sydney "dance fan". I must admit I always thought of Brent Street as the home of that type of annoying, cheesy-grinned, precocious little girl dancer typified in Young Talent Time! In recent years, it's obvious that Brent Street has grown up, with many famous names to its credit.
