Utah Ski Resort Reviews

Looking for a great place to ski this winter? If you have't had the pleasure of taking s ski trip to Southwestern utah before, you are missing out! Although there are several great ski resorts in the southern part of the state, this review will focus on Brian Head. Located in the far southwestern part of the state just outside of Cedar City, Brian Head is an excellent alternative to the crowded ski resorts near Park City. While Brian Head may be a bit out of the way in terms of location, it certainly is not lacking when it comes to winter fun. Brian Head offers skiing on several different mountains with terrain ranging from gently winding beginner trails to challenging backcountry steeps. The fun at Brian Head doesn't have to end when the sun goes down either, they offer night skiing and snow tubing to keep the action going well into the evening.OK, but what about the snow? Brian Head sits in an upslope area at an elevation of 9800 feet above seas level where it is perfectly positioned to squeeze out an average of over 350 inches of Utah powder every year. The southern location of the resort makes for incredible skiing as daytime temperatures typically remain low enough to keep the snow powdery while being warm enough to be able to enjoy yourself.

Brian Head Ski Resort Map

Here you can get a feel for the layout of the ski area. As you can see from the map, Brian Head is made up of several different mountains all with unique terrain. The size ensures that when you take a trip to Brian head, you will always spend more time skiing and snowboarding than waiting in lift lines! Brian Head resort offers both challenging back country terrain for experienced skiers and snowboarders as well as great gentle beginners runs as well.

Overall, I give Brianhead resort five stars out of a possible five. It has everything I look for in an ideal ski and snowboarding resort including great terrain, monster dumps of gorgeous powder, and plenty of additional activities both on and off the mountain. That makes Brianhead an ideal choice for a winter ski vacation! Need a suggestion for a hotel or lodging? The Cedar Breaks Lodge is an excellent choice. It is right next to the mountain making it ideally located for prime skiing and features great luxury accommodations including indoor pool and spa, fitness center, bar, and restaurant. If you want something a little more private, there are some great ski-in ski-out homes for rent right on the mountain itself. Stop dreaming and pack up your gear, ski season is about to get in full swing. You owe it to yourself to get a little rest and relaxation at one of the top ski resorts in the Southwest!
