Brides War a Movie Review with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway
Bride’s War is a movie about two girlfriends fighting over who gets to have their wedding of their dreams when both events was scheduled on the same dates at the same venue, The Plaza Hotel. The movie stars Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway along with two lesser known male stars are the main characters.
The moral of this movie is whether or not it is worth losing a friendship to win the war of getting the wedding performed at your life long dream place, The Plaza Hotel.
Of course, you know the right choice. Friendship, however the length or duration is worth more than winning the war of getting your wedding date at your favorite venue. Anne Hathaway acted as a teacher who was scheduled to wed a rather controlling tall but stocky fellow who she had been living with. Kate Hudson played a hard-nosed lawyer who was used to winning cases and getting her way. She was ironically scheduled to marry a kinder gentler guy on the same day as her life long friend, Anne Hathaway.
The substance of the movie was prank after prank to thwart the other bride to be to give in and to relinquish her wedding date. Among the pranks was Anne Hathaway slipping a concoction into Kate’s hairdresser’s perm and actually turning her hair a horrid blue. Kate Hudson lost a high profile case because of that one. She showed up at the meeting with a put together outfit with her blue and black dotted bra clearly showing. Kate Hudson had gone dancing the previous night and overslept arriving at the office in inappropriate dress with long strands of blonde and blue hair. At that wild party, Anne had rivaled Kate for the best dancer and won by theatrically and sexually dancing and swinging like a stripper from a huge rope that hung from the dance room ceiling. Kate, being the tigress of the two did not let a good deed go unpunished. She paid the same night clubbers to appear at Anne’s wedding complete with the dancing rope in unbecoming night club clothes to dance on the wedding hotel balcony. Anne played a prank on Kate prior to this fiasco by having chocolates and large cookies delivered to her office in the pretence that the gift came from Kate's mild-mannered boyfriend. Kate put on several pounds and was unable to fit into her Vera Wang dress during her wedding rehearsal. It is a known fact that you fit your body to Vera Wang’s dress and that the dress does not have to fit the buyer. Well, Kate found out that her handsome boyfriend had not given her the calorie filled goodies and that Anne had been up to her pranks again to get her wedding performed at The Plaza Hotel. The resultant prank return of investment from Kate was telling all of Anne’s friends that she was pregnant. Of course, it was a lie but Anne’s boyfriend was a little frightened when he suddenly saw fuzzy baby things being delivered to the apartment.
The night clubbers disgracing Anne’s Hathaway’s wedding must have proved the worse of the pranks because that is the scene in the preview where you see Anne Hathaway storming into Kate’s wedding (The wedding planner had decided to have dual weddings) at The Plaza Hotel and jumping and battling completely clothed in her mother’s vintage wedding gown and Kate in her elaborate Vera Wang. (Kate had managed to run off the pounds). They both toppled to the floor of The Plaza Hotel in a slew of chiffon, lace and vintage satin. The wedding hotel room was full of wedding well wishers at the time. Finally, exhausted from fighting, Kate and Anne laid on the floor of The Plaza Hotel on their backs covered in the chiffon, lace and vintage satin both realizing how senseless all their actions had been toward each other. They stared each others in the eyes and promptly forgave each other of all the pranks. Anne, in her mother's torn vintage gown consented to giving Kate away at the wedding to the kind boyfriend. Anne ended the relationship with the controlling boyfriend who had not realized that during their time together, Anne had grown stronger and resented his controlling behavior.
Nine years later Anne married Kate’s nice and handsome brother. To the chagrin of the movie goers, Anne and Kate once again had to talk about important dates. They both became pregnant and was given the same expectant due date for their babies. Unfortunately, that is one date that their will be no Bride’s War over. Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson remained life long friends.
