You bought the dress, new cosmetics (including the best lip gloss), the shoes, and now you only have the bridesmaid jewelry left to buy. If you're lucky, the bride is going to gift you with a set of lovely jewelry, if you're unlucky you're going to get some silly trinket you'll never wear again. Lets hope the bride is reading this. Hint hint: if you want all your bridesmaids to look alike, give them a set of jewelry as the bridesmaid gift (tradition dictates the bride gives a gift to her bridesmaid). Of course, tradition also dictates a bridesmaid pays for her own dress, but traditions, they are a-changin!

In this economy who can afford a $150+ dress to wear once? Not many of us. I don't care how honored you are to be a bridesmaid, that price tag is going to hurt. Additionally, you'll have to pay for shoes, a stylist and of course the new exercise bike you need to ride in order to fit in that dress. (You gotta look fabulous right?) I'm proud to say that I paid for my bridesmaids' dresses. These women take time out of their schedules to help brides plan the wedding, they host the bachelorette party (thanks again ladies for that drunken trip in a canoe), keep the bride calm on the most stressful day of her life, and with all of that to do they find the time to look beautiful for that special day. Its a lot to take on, paying for the dresses I mean, but if you're planning a wedding carefully you can save money in lots of other ways (check my other hubs for more information).

If you're buying your own jewelry, then there are a few things to check first. Make sure you speak to the bride and the other bridesmaids in order to coordinate the jewelry. The best part about buying multiple sets of the same type of jewelry, is that you can often get a discount on bulk orders. If you're unable to coordinate with the bride, try to stay within her theme and colors if possible. For example, try blue stones with silver chains or pearls for blue and white weddings. There are tremendous savings to be had if you're willing to shop the web as well.

One great thing that came out of the wedding industry is putting things into sets. Bridesmaid jewelry sets, flower girl sets, ring pillow sets, favor sets, the list is endless. The only downside to these sets is there are some pieces and parts that just go unused. That's not the case for the jewelry sets, though.

Jewelry is the one item that will be worn over and over again, barring atrociousness. It's also a huge money and time saver to buy a set which matches. It can be really frustrating to try and find a set of jewelry that matches your gowns and necklace and earrings and bracelet. Some bridesmaid jewelry sets also come with hair accessories (a great help when you're trying to add a little flair to a boring up-do). When it's time to purchase the jewelry, you might take the opportunity to bring up sets so that all the bridesmaids can have the exact same jewelry. (or at least color variations of the exact same jewelry).

I admit it, I'm an Amazon hussy. I love that shop and if you've read any of my other hubs you'll realize how much I love it. For me, its like I'm five years old and my mom just walked into a wall to wall candy store. If there is anything better than Amazon on the web, and I don't think there is, then I have yet to find it. Shoes? Yup. Books? Yup. Jewelry? Yup. It really does have it all. And most of the time there is free shipping if you spend as little as $25.00. Tell me you're going to find that at a department store! You're not. Another great thing about Amazon, besides their free shipping and incredible prices, is that they have such a huge selection of goods in general. Being able to do all your shopping in one place, or most of it, is really helpful. If you're thinking that Amazon is like a flea market, well you're half right. Its like a flea market where people sell there items and stores sell their items. Yes stores like Target and Macy's sell products on Amazon.

All in all for Amazon is hard to beat for :

The Internet is so vast and there is so much information it may be difficult to wade through it all and find the best jewelry for the best price. I recommend Amazon.com, but there are plenty of other web sites that have an the same products, you just won't find those all in the same place and certainly I wouldn't say they prices equal to Amazon's, though. With the cost of shipping from different places, and overhead costs, you won't find a better place for cheap bridesmaid jewelry than Amazon, in my opinion.
