MySpace is a form of social networking.  It is a web site where users sign up, create profiles and connect with friends new and old in a variety of ways.  Over the years, MySpace has opened its doors to musicians, actors, comics and more as a way to share work, showcase talent and bring together users with similar interests.  It hosts profiles, blogs, photos, music, videos and more for each user.

In order to sign up for MySpace, you go through a user registration process. You can create a unique profile ID or username and other users can find you based on that link, your full name or other factors you identify in your profile. Your profile can be private or public, and you can limit the amount of information that is shared with even your own friends. Blogs, for example, can be limited to a set group of friends within your network or they can be public. The choice is yours.

Many different types of media can be shared and found on MySpace. Every profile can host photos, videos and you can even sign up for a music page where you can share your own recordings. Many artists, actors, comics and more have used MySpace to reach fans across the globe in ways users never thought possible. You can interact with your favorite actors or musicians this way, too. MySpace allows you to reach out to friends, family and network with those who share similar interests, goals or romantic interests.

MySpace's direct competition come from rival site Facebook.  Both pretty much do the exact same thing for their users.  If one site comes up with a change, it generally is recreated or introduced in the other.  MySpace currently has more than 250 million accounts and averages more than 250,000 new accounts daily.
