You may be interested in brining a Turkey this Thanksgiving or you may just be in the mood for some moist meat. Brining bags come in handy when it's difficult to fit the meat in a pot with the brine. Good quality brining bags, like the bags from William Sonoma come in multiple sizes (small bags for a pork tenderloin and large bags for a 20+ lbs turkey), are made of a durable plastic and will likely have a double seal that will prevent the bag from leaking.

- Brining bags will fit a turkey while it's difficult to find a pot to hold a large turkey
- Bags are smaller than pots and will more easily mold to fit in the refrigerator
- Once your done, you can throw the bag out
Disadvantages of brining bags

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this information with us and suggesting a new idea for preparing turkey for thanksgiving.
Thank you Paul for the pros and cons of using a brining bag. I'd like to try it one day, but just not for a Thanksgiving turkey as it probably won't fit.
You can fit a Thanksgiving turkey in a brining bag - up to 23 lbs. But, if you still want to brine a turkey and it's too big to fit in a bag, you can head to a restaurant supply store and buy a really large pot.
Hey Paul, I've never heard of brining a turkey... interesting.

Thanks, Paul, for that wonderful Hub. I had no idea about brinning bags before reading this hub. I'm learning a lot of new stuff from you. You're great! Don White
