With all of the controversy surrounding Sarah Palin's family and the commentary regarding the impact it may have on her ability to lead the country, I decided to check in with the other candidate's families and see what their children are up to. I'm focusing on the older children who can at least drive. I believe that is when adult decisions first start emerging and your upbringing dictates how you handle these decisions.

The McCain Clan-

Douglas McCain (adopted son of John McCain. Son of McCain's first wife.) Served as a navy pilot. Now a pilot with American Airlines.

Andrew McCain (adopted son of John McCain. Son of McCain's first wife.) Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Hensley & Company. Resigned from Silver State Bank shortly before regulators shut it down. The bank failed because of losses on soured loans. Mccain was a member of the bank's audit commitee.

Sidney McCain - (daughter of McCain and first wife.) Born 9.2.1966. Music exec based in Toronto.

Meghan McCain - (daughter of McCain and Cindy McCain.) Born 1984. Blogger and aspiring fashion daughter. McCain Blogette documents life on the campaign trail with dad.

John McCain IV (Jack) (Son of McCain and Cindy McCain.)- Born 5.2.1986 Midshipmain in the navy. To graduate us naval academy in 2009.

James (Jimmy) McCain-(Son of McCain and Cindy McCain.) Born 1986. Enlisted at age 17 in the Marines and served in Iraq.

Bridget McCain (adopted daughter from Bangladeshi)- 16 years old attending private school in Phoenix.

The Obama Children-

Malia Ann Obama -1998

Natasha (Sasha) Obama- 2001

(Still too young to get into any serious trouble.)

Biden's Tribe-

Joseph R. "Beau" Biden (son of Joe Biden and Neilia Biden)- born 2.3.1969 American politican, soldier and lawyer. Currently Attorney General of Delaware and a Captain in the Delaware Army National Guard.

Hunter Biden (son of Joe Biden and Neilia Biden) - Born 2.4.1970 Founding partner in lobbying firm Oldaker, Biden & Belair, Vice Chariman of Amtrak Board of Directors

Ashley Blazer Biden - (daughter or Joe Biden and Jill Biden) Born 1981. Social worker, also board member of YMCA. Arrested in altercation with police in 2002 (source: LA Times)

(Just a bit of dirt. The LA Times goes on to stipulate that Ashley was standing up for a fellow citizen. Also, social work is a noble profession.)

The Palin Pack-

Track Palin - Born 1989. Enlisted in the US Army Sept 11, 2007 and assigned to an infantry brigade. Rumors of drug habits.

Bristol Palin - Born 1990. Announced in Sept 2008 that she is 5 months pregnant and intends to marry the father and keep her baby.

Willow Palin - Born 1995.

Piper Palin - Born 2001.

Trig Palin -Born 2008.

(A google search wouldn't reveal if Bristol holds down a job. There are rumors of video-taped drug use.)
