Broken lives
55Broken and Forgiven
Come to Me broken
My son my son
where have you gone
been looking for you
all the day long
My son my son
what has gone wrong
come
back to me
where you belong
My daughter my daughter
where have you wandered
been searching for you
to fro and yonder
My daughter my daughter
where have you strayed
come
back to me
where you will stay
My son my daughter
I am your father
come to me broken
and I'll make you whole
My son my daughter
let's make things right
not wait any longer
not tarry one night
My son my daughter
return to me
come get your cleansing
come
you shall see
And this one my son
he gave his life
he came to redeem you
free you again
And this one my son
he stood between us
he made the way
for PEACE within
My son my daughter
I am your father
come to me broken
and I'll make you whole

thank you for you honest reply
this is lovely. I'm glad I ran across it.
I really love this one. I came back for a re-read. Not only is it a wonderful theme, and one I believe in, but it has a real rhythm to it when reading it out loud. It's almost like religious slam. I think you invented a new genre.
I have no idea what religious slam is??????
It has real rhythm because it is a song.
Here is a link to it....well you can find it under the title of
"come to me broken"
ah, ok, thank you!
slam poetry is a form of poetry reading. there is a wonderful rhythm to it, yes, a singsong quality, but it isn't usually song, nor is it usually religiously based. your work reads here like slam poetry. I'm very fond of slam, so that is a compliment.
well thank you so much....Are you Jewish?
What gave away mine? Please listen to the ballet "come to me broken"
you might melt...right at the beginning is an intro of 8 notes...then the first lyric matches the next note so you can sing along.
I tried the underlined area under the title and it is not a hyperlink, could you put the link down here, just the url?
I am Catholic, but I have a long familiarity with Judaism. From what you've written, you make a very good example of your faith.
I might occasionally do the Sabbath candles, however I am not Jewish. Possibly that will confuse you. :)
did you try these...look for the title....

ah, from that site. yes, I'm in it now, thanks. :)
I didn't realize this was your own musical work. Kudos, you are very talented.
Well...I just hear these melodies and get out of the way ya know...pass the maround if you think it's ok....they are very deep pieces. They are down loadable if you hover over the right button
I would certainly recommend them to anyone. I have no music talent, myself. It's wonderful that you do.
well thanks again for your kind comments, how do you say your name?...they were all just recorded on one mic. in a living room as we had no money for studio.
Idunn. It's a Norse goddess, the wife of Bragi the poet. Frankly, I didn't really select it - a friend did.
Ok...now I know...thanks...thanks for all the feedback.
remember when a computer was an "etch a sketch?"
indeed. :) I actually loved that thing. hehe.
you are most welcome. I've enjoyed talking to you and I look forward to reading your current and future Hubs.
Poetry is very very good. Songs are so melodic & peaceful to listen to. You have many talents and this is a blessing.
I have been given so much....I just want to give it all away is all.
What a beautiful family God has blessed you with! If only we could always remember that brokeness is the place in our hearts where GOD can gently restore and remake us, instead of just forging ahead in life, thinking all is well. Surrendering this part is of ourselves must be a daily/hourly exercise. Hearing this poem put to music carries HIS message straight to the heart! Thanks for being here!
Thanks Cathy
Shalom, Shavua Tov
(have a good week, a week of peace and blessing)

But what about El Perro?
You left her out?
Thanks for reading again.
