Accompanied by her musician father an ex guitarist and back vocalist, Lara began her singing career at age 14 in Brussels. A few years later she joined a number of European competitions and won several prizes. At 18, she sang Croire in the prestigious Eurovision competition and got the 4th prize. During this time the public started to notice Lara's talent, her song Croire and Je sais sold 500,000 and 300,000 copies respectively. Because of her European successes, Lara went to Quebec to promote Je sais and falls in love with the place. With her producer Rick Allison (wherein she also had a 7 years relationship) at her side , she decides to go to America to start her career there. Her first album titled Lara Fabian that had been recorded in Belgium was launched in August 1991 and slowly the public came to love her voice that has full of majestic power and sublime sensuality. A classically trained singer is one with soul and true emotional intensity.
