GERMAN SHEPHERD : NATURAL BEAUTY WITH BRAINS

I salute Buddy for saving his master by dialing 911. Double salute to the paramedical team to respond to Buddy's barking!

According to the T.V. news, on September 15, 2008, Buddy, 18-month-old German Shepherd dog was able to dial 911 when his owner had a seizure, bringing paramedics to his door and sending him to hospital. Buddy is an assistance dog, trained to take measures to help his master if he's ever in trouble - and that includes teaching the animal how to dial 911. Stalnaker living in Scottsdale, Arizona, now is in a good health to tell the story as how Buddy called 911 for help. When emergency operators answered the call, they could hear only the dog barking and no human voice. Three minutes later, the dispatcher can hear police forcing their way into the home and the dog barking furiously as they entered. They found Stalnaker lying unconscious on the floor, his faithful companion standing over him. "Bravo Buddy".

German Shepherd, the popular breed of dog, are as pets and guard dogs. This breed is very intelligent, obedient and elegant. According to the American kennel club the first impression of this breed is that of a strong, agile, well muscled animal, alert and full of life. He requires regular exercise and grooming. According to a dog trainer, it takes six full months to get to Buddy's level as a service dog. It is incredible the dogs are trained this way.

Being physically challenged, I should be seriously thinking to own a German Shepherd dog like Buddy. My only concern is the emergency operators should respond at the receiving end in my country like 911!! According to a dog lover, German Shepherd will devote his very life to you and you will be the richer for this and for the companionship and love you both will share.

I know they are smart and well trained. But, It is pretty amazing he could use his paws to dial the number.
