The search for proper 'build your own shed' plans can turn up a lot of things, but most of the time, much of what we find helps us with ideas, but lack in the way of decent measurements, raw information and instructions that are simple to follow. We try to find what we need by visiting the local DIY center, where we find ridiculusly overpriced "DIY", throw-together, ready made shed kits for ideas, then we look at the a lot of plans in the literature section for those that offer some basic how-to knowledge in the hopes of securing some solid building plans within them.
How to build a shed part 2
We often find that the shed plans that are included in some of these are seriously lacking in information. Yes, we see some simple schematics, but often some information is left out, measurements are lacking or even wrong or misprinted, and we come to the realization that these plans are usually there for another reason. They are there for ideas and ideas for the striving DIY builder to then decide what they want at the supplies offered in these home building centers. They aren't there for accurate proffesional style building.
In order to properly build your own shed - decent blueprints, are needed. There should be no mistakes - we're not looking for ideas on how to make our house more pretty here, we just want accurate, real, plans. We want proper blueprints that are easy to follow and perfectly accurate, and we want such information to be the main focus of any source of such, if not the only focus, and not for it to play second fiddle to ideas on how to make your outdoor space more like a living room. What's the best place for raw information such as this? The internet of course!
