When building the chicken coop,
it is always suggested that you do follow some of the guidelines. So below are
some of the successful activities:
Drawing of a chicken coop
Element 1: Designs and Appearance
Before doing anything, do sketch out the design on the sheet of paper. While sketching just think of the colors that you would want to paint the chicken coop and the roof as well. Do keep in mind that you have to make your chicken coop visible to your neighbors. Your chicken coop shouldn’t distract your neighbors. Try to maintain the landscape with appealing look that will enhance your chicken coop’s total appearance.
Element 2: Do use some of the sound judgment
Do see that all the building materials that you use for disinfecting and cleaning procedures are very much easy and quicker enough. The doors that you fix should have open inwards but not outside and installing the sliding windows is always good. The flooring should be little sloped towards the door to solve the pudding problem.

Element 5: source of light
If you want your chicken coop to get good warmth during the cold months and also proper ventilation, then do install a chicken coop window facing towards south side so the chicken coop receives sunlight throughout the day. Light is pretty important as chicken will be laying eggs and eggs need some warmth.
Element 4: ventilation for the chicken coop
Chicken are much like human and they need some fresh air to breathe. Proper ventilation will remove the build up of ammonia that may grow inside the walls. There should be insulation installed on the wall so that it keeps chicken dry always.

Element 6: waterers and feeders have to be placed conveniently
Chicken waterers and feeders must be placed where the chickens can have easy access. While placing the feeders and waterers you have to be careful as chickens will make a mess out of them due to their scratching instincts. So be sure that your chicken doesn’t mess up the entire coop. in order to avoid the mess, do place the feeders at the heigh of chicken’s back and it is the same with waterers. See that you place fresh clean waters always. By keeping the feeders and waterers at that height, chickens will scratch their neck in order to eat the food.
