Building Your Own Get Paid to Site

First you may ask "What is a GPT?" A GPT is a site that pays it's members to do things online like complete offers,free surveys,shopping,entering sweepstakes, entering contests and referring friends. Most sites offer things for free for you to do but some require you to purchase items like a magazine subscription or request information for health products. These sites are sometimes called Reward sites or Do it Yourself sites and there are several like this online, some created through a script provider called shiftcode.

I actually got into GPT sites last year,as a member though and I had joined a few sites and was doing offers daily and making a little of cash online. There were a few sites that closed "suddenly" taking my earnings with them which is really low when you have spent so much time filling out offers and surveys. I decided to research a few ways to start a GPT and I wanted to share ideals with others on here. The first thing I came across online was a site called Greedlead which is a site that lets you create a GPT for free. I started my first GPT and was more then disappointed with this site.There was no support help and the only offers that were provided were ones through the site. The last time they had been updated was the year before and the earnings were nada. I started looking around for more information and came across several sites that were dead end. I started talking to a GPT owner about her site and she told me about shiftcode.The first thing to know before going to create your own GPT is you need money to make it. The script through shiftcode was a few hundred and if you wanted something added to it there were various prices ranging from ten to forty dollars. The good thing is all their products are covered once you pay for them no monthly fees except a license fee if you want shiftcode to host your site. The fee is around twenty dollars a month and is worth it in my opinion.You can have someone design what your site looks like or shiftcode will do it which once again costs money. I skipped doing this for one main reason,I have seen new sites die fast and they were very flashy. I talked to one owner who told me he wished he would have skipped decorating and focused more on the running of the site and making sure he could cover members cash outs. When I asked why, he told me that after buying the script,design and domain he was drained financially. When he didn't meet threshold with his advertisers he had to pay members out of his pocket. After a few months of this he decided to auction off his site. I have chosen to wait on the design at least for the moment.

My one mistake was lacking a domain in the beginning and I paid for it. I suggest GoDaddy for a cheap and easy managed domain. You can get a domain for a low fee once a year. When I said I paid for lacking a domain, I wasn't kidding. I came across a site that was literally putting my site down,saying that it was put together to make a quick buck. I responded to this asking why it was said. The reply was that I did not have a domain and hadn't bought a pricey layout for my site. I figured out why a domain was important because without one I was not listed as the owner of my site on the WHO IS. I fixed this fast but still did not go for the design regardless what was said.

Once you have your domain and site you need to get some advertisers or affiliates. Every affiliate has a different payday and it is good to keep track of who pays when. If you get your site through shiftcode there are several sites that do automatic crediting,meaning when a member does an offer,and if they do it right,the advertisers approves it and the members cash balance is updated. Other sites are manual, meaning you have to manually credit these offers when the advertisers lets you know what has approved.

After signing up with advertisers you need to add offers and start recruiting members. I suggest exchanging site banners with other GPT sites,advertising your GPT on GPT related forums,posting your site url in signatures in your emails and on any forum posts. Avoid sites like craigslist because unless it has changed I believe it is against their terms to post incentive based sites. Invite your friends,send out invites on myspace,facebook and other profile sites you belong to. Start a blog about your site and make sure to update it regularly.One of the most important things I can suggest is be patient and make sure to pay your members. If there is some type of problem with your site make sure to explain it to your members and do not avoid their mails or help tickets. In my opinion so far the key seems to be in order to run a GPT with success is to have members who are willing to do offers and advertisers who pay. I have had two advertisers so far vanish on me and with them taking the earnings of myself and my members.
