Are Burger King Calories Good For Me If I'm Dieting

If you're looking to lose some weight, you may be interested to know how many Burger King calories you can eat without screwing up your diet. It's certainly something I was interested in when I started on my diet just a few months back.

I must admit I'm very much a Burger King guy over McDonalds any day. I know fast food is far from good for you, but if (or rather when) I get the urge, it's just gotta be BK. But more recently the marketing guys at BK have realized there's a whole new market out there just waiting for them - the people who love to eat fast food but would rather have healthier foods to choose from - so BK are bringing in more salads and chicken based meals. Nice one guys.

One of the big things that was always in the back of my mind whenever I thought about losing weight, was "how would I ever managed with my fast food"? All the diet plans I looked at talked about how many calories I was allowed each day, and which foods I could eat, and which ones I definitely had to stay away from.

With so many different programs telling me so many different things, I got very confused, so in the end I decided just to count all the calories I ate every day, and aim to keep it under an average of 2000 per day. This gave me a little lee-way - so if I had 2500 calories one day, I knew I had to aim for 1500 the next. This meant I could still have my favorite BK Double Whopper, so long as I made up for it with some very healthy and low calorie foods the next day.

I found a very handy burger king calorie counter on their site - it's PDF so you'll need adobe acrobat to view it - click here.

The double whopper with cheese (my favorite) comes in at 990 calories - so I can still have one of those providing I'm careful with everything else I eat that day.

How I Lost Weight and Still Had My Burger King Calories

Once I'd decided I was going to attack my weight loss program, I decided I would simply watch the calories. All the different diet plans left me confused (to say the least) so I figured I'd just do it my way. All I did was make sure I didn't eat more than an average of 2000 calories a day (averaged out over a week), and added some simple exercises to my day.

Now by exercises don't think I was hitting the gym - I get bored doing those kind of repetitive things - all I did was walk more. We have a big german shepherd who was only too willing to extend her walking routine to take in an extra mile each night, so that kind of made it easy. And within 2 weeks I'd lost my first half stone.

I'd like to say that everything else went perfectly from there on in - but it didn't. I really struggled with sticking to my new diet. I think the hardest part was maintaining my willpower. So over the next 5 weeks I only lost another 2 pounds, which really made me wonder why I was bothering.

I Found A Magic Trick That Helped Increase My will Power

After a few soul searching days, I decided that I really did want to lose this flab I was lugging around with me, so started to look at ways I could control my mind better, and increase my will power. I knew the diet was working (when I stuck with it), I just needed to find a way to get my head right.

So - there I was catching up with some friends on Facebook when I found a group called Magic Hats. I was planning a birthday party for my soon-to-be 5 year old daughter at the time, and was looking for a magician, so I thought Magic Hats would be a place where magicians might hang out.

It turned out the Magic Hats group was all about a coaching program that helps people in building confidence levels and increasing your will power - particularly for things like losing weight. Wow - talk about good karma. Exactly what I was looking for, and it was free so I figured "Why not".

The first part of the program deals with building your self confidence levels and teaching you very simple techniques to feel good about yourself. That really hit home for me - I didn't particularly feel bad or low, but this really helped in boosting my self esteem and self confidence. After that, I felt I could achieve anything - and certainly losing a few pounds was going to be a walk in the park.

The second part of the program is specifically about helping you with your will power to see the diet through to the end - your ideal weight. If you're not sure what your ideal weight is, or want to know what your BMI is, they have a very handy BMI Calculator.

The Magic Hats program has 12 free videos that teach you how to build confidence - which is crucial in helping you succeed in your weight loss goals. I won't go into loads of details about the program - it's free so you can check it out yourself. But I will recommend that you go sign up for it - it's certainly made a big improvement in my life.
