The 100% free business clip art on this page is all in the public domain and available to use in any way. It is sourced from the Planet Open Clip Art Library (link below),The original designers are credited where possible because I think they have done a great job and deserve it.

All of the images on the POCAL site are offered primarily as scalable vector graphic files (SVG files) and are most useful for web sites. The ones I've picked out have potential for use in many kinds of printed business materials or websites and are presented as PNG or JPEG image files. The majority of files are high quality. photo-realistic images.

Planet Open Clip Art Library

To quote the site itself:

'This project aims to create an archive of user contributed clip art that can be freely used. All graphics submitted to the project should be placed into the Public Domain according to the statement by the Creative Commons.'

The artwork is often a joint effort with different individuals remixing the work of others to create unique images and effects.

The appetite for clip art is enormous and varied. For more sites offering business clip art their are links at the bottom of the page. Only free sites offering genuinely free business clip art have been included.

I can think of two reasons why someone might want to find the original files.

• To work with the images in the original SVG format.
• To make sure they are in the public domain (very sensible)

If you are interested in using any of the above files in the original SVG format they can be retrieved from Open Planet Clip Art by using the search facility. Visit the site and search for any of the image makers credited above. Click the site logo (pictured right) for the search page

About SVG Files for anyone who isn't familiar with them.

Scalable vector graphic files have two great advantage over traditional graphics files.

• They can be re-sized without any loss of quality.
• The files are small in comparison to other formats.

They also lend themselves to photo-realistic image making.

All of these things mean that svg files are ideal for use as web graphics

SVG files can be opend in many web browsers (excepting Internet Explorer) or in SVG design programs like inkscape or Adobe Illustrator. They cannot be viewed in normal image viewers like ACDC or edited in Photoshop.

Artfavor

There is a wealth of clip art, vector graphics (CDR files for Corel Draw only) and photographs useful for businesses on this site. It is easy to search and download.

There is no indications on the site itself or on it's 'about us' page that there are any restrictions on the use of any file.

There are some useful basic free business clip art images on this site- business men and women, clocks, credit cards etc in a friendly, cartoon style. There are also images of computers, transportation and occupations which can be useful, with many other categories available.

There are a wide range of categories of clip art here including law, medicine and construction.

Each has a small number of images for free use including the example from 'offices' to the right.

CLKER have a huge amount of free business clip art, some photorealistic, most in cartoon styles. The link below is to icons of office materials. You can use the search facility to find a whole range of useful images.

Pureclipart

There are plenty of free offerings here in all the usual catagories. The science icons might be worth adding to your collection. That mad scientist guy seems to turn up all over place.
