Rookie Internet Marketing Mistakes
When you’re new to Internet marketing, it can be tempting to just jump right in and get started. You get geeked about a new opportunity, rush out to market it, and find no one is buying. It doesn’t mean it’s ab bad opportunity or that you’re no good at Internet marketing, it just means you’ve probably made a mistake somewhere along the way.
There are a number of pitfalls that are tremendously easy to fall into when you’re first getting started at Internet marketing.
Here are some of the most common:
Poor Planning
Any successful business or marketing endeavor, whether it’s offline or online, has a plan. You know where you are today, where you want to be tomorrow, and how you’re going to get there. Even just taking a couple of hours to map out your Internet marketing strategy can mean the difference between spinning your wheels and swimming in sales.

Not Understanding the Market
If you want to sell something effectively, you need to have a good idea
of who might buy the product, where to find them, and how to convince
them to buy. It’s easy to pick a product that you like the sound of and
try to sell it, but if no one else wants to buy it you aren’t going to
succeed. The same holds true if your market is saturated. If you’re the
999th person to sell a product, you’re not going to see huge sale
numbers.
Spamming
Now, it’s not likely that you’re going to run out, buy an email list,
and send hundreds of thousands of emails to people. Most people aren’t
spammers, and they don’t want to be thought of as such. However, many
people that would never consider sending email spam will go out, sign
up for Twitter, amass hundreds of followers, and the post nothing but
links to their products. In the end, there is little difference between
the two. Effective Internet marketing avoids these kinds of spammy
activities.

One of the great things about the Internet is the way that web sites
can interact with one another. The fact of the matter is that there are
probably other web sites or blogs out there in your niche already. Why
not put them to work for you? Whether it’s as simple as a link exchange
or whether it’s something more extensive like a jointly sponsored
contest, don’t be afraid to become part of the community in your niche.
Poor Design and Content
The look of your website, as well as the words on the page, speak volumes about you, and about your business. Your site and your content need to be professional. If that means you have to hire someone to write your blog posts, then that’s what it means. It’s better to pay someone to do a good job than it is to do a poor job on your own. Nice Hub. Good advice also, especially the part about Twitter.
Social media marketing is not about ammassing thousands of followers to try to hit using the numbers game. It's about leveraging the right tools, techniques and strategies to move your audience across the web, syndicate good content and build the right relationships with the right people so that they will make a decision to work with you..
Providing of course, you have a product or opportunity of genuine proven value.
Thanks for the info.
