LinkedIn- Just ask the 40 million businessmen and businesswomen who use LinkedIn. LinkedIn is one of the best websites on the web to get your name and business name out there. LinkedIn also allows you to exchange information and other topics with other fellow business people. According to the LinkedIn website, “Executives from all Fortune 500 companies are LinkedIn members”. Now is that saying something, or what!
When you join, the first information pieces you fill in are your names, business name, your position of that business, email, and your zip code number. After this, it directs you to the page where you can set up your profile. You can add connections, recommendations, put in your education, and other information that will help people learn a little more about you and your business. ZoomInfo- ZoomInfo is another helpful website. ZoomInfo keeps track of how many people are members and how many companies are registered on the website. Around 48.5 million people and 5 million companies. I haven’t had to time to make a profile with ZoomInfo, but I have seen other profiles on the site.
Some information given for the member to fill out is employment history, board memberships, certifications, education, and biography.
ZoomInfo helps Sales and Marketing businesses along with recruiters. ZoomInfo provides virtual guided tours of the Sales and Marketing and also with the recruiting side. According to their slogan, “ZoomInfo is the most comprehensive source of business information on people and companies in the world”. That’s saying a lot right there. Xing – Xing is not as big as the others, topping out at 7 million members, but it serves the same purpose as the other sites do; connect businesses with other businesses and help businessmen advertise their business. I just set a record for saying the word business in a sentence. Anyway, the good thing about this site is that you can view it in 16 different languages. My experience with LinkedIn and ZoomInfo has found no option to view the site in different languages. This is a plus.
Xing also allows you to read success stories and to view how people get connected. Xing mostly deals with businesses and businessmen outside of the US. Here are some sites on Xing:

If you were to ask me which one that I would recommend, that would be a hard question. I would say I like all of them due to the fact that they are all free to join. My personal favorite is LinkedIn.
