Work at Home and Business Opportunities

  There are a lot of work at home and business opportunity that are being offered. For hundreds or maybe even thousands of years people have been trying to rich. I remember when I was a kid chain letters were the hottest money making opportunity out there.

I don't know if anyone ever made money from those things, I know I never made any money from chain letters. Soon after the chain letter came the 976 number which later became the 900 number. The 976 numbers ranged from all kinds topics from joke of the day, horse racing, sports scores, and of course adult entertainment.

I know that people were making money from these numbers because I myself got caught up spending money listening to jokes of the day and horoscopes. I was a kid and didn't know better until the phone bill came in, let's just say that my parents were not happy. The good thing is that the cost was only $.50.

Once the 900 number came into play 976 numbers were a thing of the past. I'm not quite sure why the industry went with the 900 number instead of the 976 number, probably because the 976 number wasn't easily identifiable as a premium pay number like the 900 number. Well savvy business people started using 900 numbers to market almost everything charging anywhere from $2.99 per minutes to $50 a call. 900 numbers went strong for quite some time until the internet came into play.

With the invention of the internet came a lot of millionaires. Of course the #1 earner was the adult entertainment industry. Besides adult content other entreprenuers were opening up web stores left and right and making a fortune as well. Well one day that internet bubble burst and a lot of people went broke. The bubble burst because too many companies, businesses, work at home warriors and so on were setting up sites and before you knew it there was tons of competition.

Well since the bubble burst the internet has balanced itself out and those who have a knack for business are still making lots of money. There are new ways to make money online these days. Google has an advertising program called adwords and there payout counterpart is adsense. Place some code on your website and when people click an ad you get a percentage of the money. Adwords and Adsense worked really well for a while and made a lot of people millionaires. Well not so much anymore, the number of people running adsense increased greatly. Now you'd be lucky to make a few hundred dollars a month from adsense. The number one thing in common with all the money making opportunities that I have listed so far is that you have to jump in early on if you want to make a killing.

You have to take advantage of the opportunities before everyone else jumps on the band wagon. The most recent money making opportunities is at home surveys. I'm don't know much about home survey work but I'll tell you that I'm still skeptical of that being a solid way to make money. It kinda sounds like the money making opportunity of days past where you assemble products at home, you know where you pay $200 for the materials and then when you're done send the finished product back and get paid $215. Uhhh no thanks.

So yeah, work at home surveys doesn't sound as easy as all the companies offering it makes it out to be. Another money making opportunity that does make people money is blogging. Blogging to make money is a lot like having a website with some adsense code and other advertising feeds that people will pay you for. The advantage of having a blog is that almost all blogs are free and simple to setup.

Blogs such as Wordpress allows you to use the blog configuration and host it on your site giving you even more flexibility. There are many courses and instruction manuals that show you how you can make money from blogging, the most noticable one being Blogging to the Bank, now in its third edition. Blogging is not the only way people are cashing in on the internet.
