Its not their fault, they just don't understand

Walk in to any television retailer and we males are instantly drawn to the best television sets. Woman on the other hand look for qualities such as color, curves and ability for a TV to blend into the background. How evolution could have failed poor women in such a manner is a subject best left for another time but we need to recognize that this deficiency exists if we are to deal with it.

Just keep in mind that when your girlfriend / wife complains about the size of your new television and stand combination that there is something wrong with her brain. Its not her fault, its just that nature wired them up wrong.

Don't try and understand their point of view

Woman are unable to comprehend the importance of size, brashness and ability to generate massive amounts of noise when choosing a television. Because of this women are best left out the decision making process. The only successful method for avoiding the inevitable confrontation when making your new television purchase decision is quite simple but it works without fail. Buy your television without telling her a thing about it, Thats all there is to it.

You must sneak behind her back doing your research on Google, at the local electrical retailer and by getting advice from friends without her knowing. This is not hard at all because your other half will be too busy thinking about buying clothes or cooking dinner to notice that you're spend two weeks consumed by a thirst for knowledge about anything and everything to do with Televisions, Television stands, audio equipment and high quality cable.

Its important to resist the temptation to let a little of the female side creep into your thinking during the process. You probably won't see this coming and that's why its important to be aware of the possibility of it happening. Keep a keen eye on your though processes. If you begin to contemplate how you are going to fit the television into the viewing room its obvious your mind is starting to fail, but there are other more subtle signs of the female madness creeping in.

If you question the price of your home cinema setup at any point then you'll need help from a friend who understands what an audio/visual system is all about. A real friend be able to pull you back from the brink and reinstall the importance of size regardless of cost.

Also, don't ever concern yourself with beauty of clean lines in a potential television and TV Stand combination. Its possible that you might end up with what a female would describe as a beautiful piece of furniture but this is never to accomplished on purpose.

A big television is important for your happiness

You'll remember that earlier I advised you not speak of your intentions to buy a giant television to your wife or girlfriend. The perceptive amongst you might have realized that there is the possibility they will notice the home cinema system once you get it installed in the living room.

I wouldn't worry about this too much, although she will probably ask inane questions like "how much did this crap cost" or "how in god's name could ever buy something like that without asking me". A favorite females often use in these types of situations is to come out with the classic line "Its me or the home cinema". This is a dirty trick that you shouldn't fall for, the best response being to quickly show her the door and settle down to watch a movie with beer and a bag of chips.

The worst thing that can happen is that she doesn't talk to you for a couple weeks, which lets be honest isn't exactly going to ruin your life. Always remember that watching movies on your home cinema is for life whereas a woman is probably just for a couple of years.
