The program was announced in January that allows consumers to return any new Hyundai leased or financed in 2009 if the owner unexpectedl loses his or her job within the first year.
Hyundai further expanded the program at the end of February of 2009 to give customers a one time, 90-day payment relief in the event of job loss or physical disability. The company is basically saying that we are all in this together and we'll get through this together.
Hyundai is responding to consumer needs as a sort of offline social media response to the economic crisis and the rising unemployment rates. Hyundai is telling the consumer that they understand the consumer challenges.
