So you are looking around at used cheap pool tables? There are some things that you need to consider before purchasing a pool table. First and most important factor that comes into play is what size pool table you want to get, and making sure that you have a room that is big enough so that you and your buddies can shoot comfortably without having the cue stick hit or bump into walls or anything else that would mess up your shot. Pool tables come in several sizes but I am only going to discuss the most common sizes of pool tables here. I will be discussing what size room you will need for what size pool table you will be investing in.

These measurements are based off of a 57” cue stick.

7’x 3 ½ ‘ (The common bar table size) The relevant room size would be 17’x14’.

8’x4’ The relevant room size would be 18’x14’.

8’x4’ oversize table. The relevant room size would be 18’2”x14’4”

9’x 4½’ (The Tournament Size) The relevant room size would be 19½ ‘x15’.

Once you have the size down that you want you can start looking into what kind of pool table you want. When looking into used pool tables you must carefully inspect the table from head to toe, crawl under the table and make sure that everything is sturdy. Find out if it is a single or three slate pool table. Make sure that the pool table is level. Play a couple games on the table before you purchase it, make sure that the roll of the balls feel good. Once you got your heart set on a pool table for you the next thing you have to worry about is getting it into your house, if you are going to set the pool table up in a garage that will make this a lot simpler. If you have to take the pool table apart to get it inside the house it’s fairly simple to do, just be extremely careful while moving the slate because if you chip or break the slate you are screwed. I would not recommend re-assembling the pool table at all, this should be done by professionals only, there are so many factors that you have to consider when reassembling a pool table. Like getting the slates level, making sure there is no bumps or creases in the slate, getting the table level with the use of shims, etc. I hope this little bit of information was help to you if it was feel free to leave a comment J Cheers everybody.
